You've got all your questions answered. As for tyre pressure, I would recommend what's in the manual, have never felt comfortable with this 2psi above normal thing.
As long as you check tyre pressures when cold and set them to recommended (as per the manual depending on the load) pressures, you will be fine.

Of course you can do it in the 800 (pun not intended)! Just as long as you stay aware of the following facts:

1. The 800 has zero crash protection by todays standards. Thus, drive real safe.

2. The braking ability leaves a lot to be desired. Thus, ditto as the previous point.
