Road conditions needed- Chennai to Trichy / Chennai to Tiruvannamalai - Team-BHP

Hi Friends - Iam planning a road trip to Trichy by mid of december ... I want to know about the current conditions of NH45 from Chennai to Trichy.. came to know that lot of construction work and diversions were going on earlier this year.

It will also be helpful if someone provides any info about Tindivanam to Tiruuvannamalai.

I will be driving only during daytime.

On the Trichy to CHennai route construction is still going on. Daytime driving is not much of a problem as only parts of the roads are bumpy. Watch for the lane diversions with care.
However the rains could have changed the situation quite a bit!
When are you travelling. I'll be doing the same stretch in mid-december.

Chennai - Tiruvannamalai stretch is pretty good. When i visited TVmalai last month road works(after the railway gate for a small stretch) were just about to be finished but this shouldn't be a problem.

Between which set of two places/towns, we have to watch out for lane diversions ?

When did u last travel between Chennai and Trichy in NH45 ? Are these information the latest ?

Can u be more specific about the locations on bad stretches or the bumpy roads between Chennai and trichy ?

I have plans to travel till tirunelveli by end of next month. Any advice or inputs on road conditions from trichy to tirunelveli is welcome.

There are number of diversions and bumpy roads after Tindivanam till Trichy. However as benjiross said daytime travelling shouldn't be an issue. I drove through this stretch in the second week of November.

I recommend Breeze residency / Gajapriya. Both are near Junction (Bus stand and Railway station) and cost approx 1000 for an AC room (Breeze is costlier of the two and their deluxe rooms are higher). Breeze has swimming pool and other facilities too.

Depends on your budget - I have been in Trichy for 2 years now and find Femina, Breeze pretty good.
Sangam is nice but very expensive.
