Further took the route Udaiput - Nathdwara - Kumbhalgarh (Not advisable). Return route was Kumbhalgarh- Sayra - Gugunda - Udaipur (Excellent route with only 45 Km one way travel). Also from Udaipur, took the route Udaipur-Neemuch-Mandsaur-Left turn to Ujjain on Jawra ujjain toll road - Dewas - Bhopal. Return route was much better and short by 50 KM.

just to share the route for experiences.
This is a good update. Few questions:

- Jawra-Nagda-Ujjain is a good road? And its a toll road? Is it a 2-lane or a 4-lane? (Asking this because you said its a tolled road)
- If thats the case then surely it makes sense. Else what I would have suggested was take the NH79, go past Ratlam and exit at Badnavar to Ujjain.

- On the whole, yes it does not make sense to go to Dewas via Indore. Its a roundabout.

- Also another pain is Ujjain town does not have a bypass. Right ?

- Jaora - Nagda -Ujjain is indeed a toll road . AFAIR the toll is about rs.25 . its a two lane road with sparse traffic .

- while coming from Nagda and crossing Ujjain to proceed towards Indore its fairly easy to negotiate Ujjain . You just have to cross a small straight stretch of about 4 kms in Ujjain , get on the flyover , get down and find yourself on a beautiful 4- lane toll road to Indore .

- if you are going to Dewas from Ujjain it indeed does not make any sense to go via Indore . but if you are proceeding towards Mhow or further from Ujjain then its best to go via Indore and after reaching Indore one can easily exit on to the bypass without much trouble .
