Default Kamat Madhuvana/Lokaruchi

What time do Kamat Madhuvana (Mysore) and Kamat Lokaruchi (Channapatna) open in the morning.

Lokaruchi is good - any reviews on Madhuvana? How is it for Breakfast?

No idea about opening timing of both the places or breakfast at Madhuvan.

Had lunch from Madhuvan few times. Excellent food and service.

Both Madhuvan and Lokaruchi are open at 7AM but you get dosas only after 7:30AM most of the times.
Idli-vada, tea-coffee is available from 7AM onwards. I had breakfast / lunch in both of them and breakfast sometimes between 7 - 7:30AM.

Thanks guys - helpful info.
Just checked on Wikimapia.org - but confirming - Kamat Madhuvana is on Nanjangud Road, just South of Mysore city, right?

Yes, just when you hit NH212 after crossing Mysore Palace. It comes on your left.

Just outta curiosity, what's so special about these places ? I have been there umpteen number of times and their dishes have tasted no different from any other good places which offer the same services.

Lokruchi serves north karnataka Lunch and is close to Janpada lok.

The only thing different about Madhuvan is that it is on the highway and has parking space , And there is nothing for few kilometers before or after it on Nanjagud road.

Instead, I would suggest you have breakfast at Mylari hotel. The best dosas/idlies in Mysore city

Riju, I guess its strategic location from bangalore than the taste which makes these two locations popular. Whatever you plan for your long journey you eventually end up having breakfsat, lunch, evening tea or dinner that these places.

I personally feel Madhuvan's lunch taste has gone down as compared to a few years back.

Where exactly is Mylari hotel in Mysore? I have tried to find it a few times, but have failed. Nobody seems to know the place in Mysore.

I guess the loka ruchi is ideally located and they have done a wonderful nostalgic feel to the whole place. This is what makes it special. The cow manger and all.
The food is as the same provided in most of the places, yet their desserts and the curd is really awesome,
Cheers

Ooh I dint know Sire . With due respect how many hotels have you really stopped over and tried along this route ?
Just because a place has ample parking space and is next to Janapada loka it doesn't qualify to be a good place.

BTW I have been traveling this route for over a decade to my hometown and can swear by the fact that there are better places in Mandya and in Mysore. Its just that one needs to explore and find places than stop over at a place which has ample parking space.

BTW did you know the famous thatte idli's from Bidadi is served at hotels which are nothing more than shacks ? You get to sit on a bench and eat, the taste is priceless and its seldom that you find cheap crowd here.

Abhi I think its more of a mental block that people see so many cars parked and then go on to decide that this is the best place. I speak from experience and trust me you should try Hotel Mylary some day.
