Default Accomodation query for Nagarjuna Sagar from Hyderabad

Guys,

I am planning a team outing with office colleagues to Nagarjuna sagar. We will probably be starting off on saturday morning and return back on the next day.
Our group size would be about 30
Main problem i am facing is accomodation. There are 2 AP tourism Hotels there.
1 of them has about 6 non-AC rooms and 2 AC rooms. and can accomodate max 16 people in the hotel.
Other is the Vijay Vihar, which turns out to be too expensive. They do not have any non-AC rooms and their price starts at about Rs2500 per day.

I have heard there are many hotels in Nagarjuna sagar, but not able to get any contact info when i do a search.

Would be great if anybody can provide any information on this.

This is news to me. I mean there are several hotels apart from the 2 you mentioned. AFAIK, you only have 2 of them and that stretch is totally deserted 50kms on either side so i doubt where you will find "Several" hotels

Well I have been there recently, and Vijay Vihar does have A/c rooms, may be its the availability that is an issue here. Probably, as other option I heard there are hotels near Ethipotala waterfalls but electricity at all times is an issue and they don't have proper back up. Find out from APTDC office at Tank bund. And do you really need the A/c rooms compulsorily in such a weather?

Manish, are you dreaming a lot about the Haleem meet? He specifically meant NON-AC rooms. Do read again the original post.

Also, the hotel at ethipothla falls has rumours of ghosts living there

@Fordmanchau :you have got me wrong here. I actually do not need an AC room ,but Vijay vihar has only AC rooms , which would be an absolute waste as the weather is quite pleasant now.

@mobike008: are you sure on that? i was doing many random search in google and read it somewhere that there are hotels/guest houses/cottages other than the AP tourism operated ones.

Ghosts would add some adventure to the outing but that hotel has only 6 non-AC and 2 AC rooms and the hotel guy says each room can accomodate max 2 people.

He is still sleeping I guess!
There are cottages at Ethipotala falls and they are also expensive (2500?).
Even I don't remember seeing any other lodging facilities at Nsagar.

@katpasin, Do let us know if you find out about any other hotels!

Sorry about misreading your post Katpasin,I think best you can haggle him for allowing 3 pax in a room but that will still leave 6 people out in the night with the ghosts!!!

called up the hotel guys. he said rooms are small and can hardly accomodate 2 guys. so this hotel is out of question.

if nothing comes up, then have to go with vijay vihar anyway

I have only seen these cottages (that's what they looked like to me because of you-know-who) at Ethipotala falls. They are on the right side of the APTDC Restaurant inside the compound for watching(?) the falls.

APTDC Website information on the same:

Haritha Hotel, Ettipotala
Ettipotala Water Falls
Nagarjunasagar
Tel: +91 8642 211100

A/C Deluxe Room - 2 Nos. - Rs.1000/- Per Day
Non A/C Room - 6 Nos. - Rs. 500/- per Day.

Why am I getting a feeling that the one you mentioned in the first post
Quote:
1 of them has about 6 non-AC rooms and 2 AC rooms. and can accomodate max 16 people in the hotel.
and the above Haritha hotel is the same?

FordManchau, is it the Firni Effect?

VijayVihar:
All Suites in Main Block - 10 Nos. - Rs.3000/- Per Day
A/C Suites - 8 Nos. - Rs.2100/- per day
A/C Room - 20 Nos. - Rs.1800/- per Day
Standard A/C Room - 2 Nos. - Rs.1200/- per day

*For extra person in A/C room, Rs.150/-.

I guess, VijayVihar is the best choice considering the size of the group.

Default Re: Accomodation query for Nagarjuna Sagar from Hyderabad

Couldn't find a more suitable thread for accommodation in Hyderabad. An uncle of mine needs to go to Narayana Hrudayalaya in Hyderabad for treatment. I'm looking for a decent hotel in the near vicinity. Google maps doesn't show anything that is on Medak Road. Could anyone suggest a good one please. Is there a hotel in a 4 - 5 kms radius? The closest I see is a Hotel Samrat which is about 10 kms away. The hospital staff says that there is a hotel nearby but they are no sure what the name of the hotel is. Again, Google is unhelpful.
