|  Places to go from Chennai I'm planning a short trip to Chennai and have 2-3 days to spend around X'mas. Can anyone suggest the near-by places around? I've been to Mahabalipuram and Pondicherry already so don't intend to go there again. Was considering Rameshwaram and Kanchipuram. Also have heard about some Golden Temple in Vellore but not sure how far that is from Chennai. Can Vellore and Yerkaud be combined together? Sorry too many questions! Look forward to hear from experienced travellers / locales.
