Default Ladakh in early June in Cedia

I was planning a trip to Ladakh via Manali and back via J&K in the first 2 weeks of June. From the posts I have read so far, the road ought to be OK to drive but I am wondering if I can do this trip in a Cedia. It is a capable car but am a bit worried on the GC front.

Please let me know what your experience has been during June and is it advisable to take the Cedia or better to rent an Innova.

P.S. Mods, I could not find similar information earlier so I started a new thread.

I would rather wait till Aug to take a low-GC car like the Cedia, because the roads in June are very bad and unpredictable. The Cedia is OK for the Ladakh terrain, but you have to be a skilled driver.

I would add patience to that - the only skill is in avoiding bottoming out

We are leaving on 30 May this year but on motorbikes. Would update you when we return which would be by 10th June.

But from my past experience in the valley, I would suggest that you wait till August. The beginin of june will be marked by unexpected snowfall and landslides as the valley would still be trying to settle. By July it would still be raining and once againg the terrain can do unexpected things.

By August the weather would settle down and moreover the SUV's would have cleared the path of the leftovers of the winters and the road or no roads would be much more acceptable to your cedia.

You can contact me if you want an update anytime. PM for contact info.
