Good hotels to stay in Kukke/Route Query

Hi Friends,

Iam shortly planning a trip to Dharmastala & Kukke with my family on my Scorp.
The plan is to visit Dharmastala first and head towards kukke, one night stay in Kukke and after darshan in the next day morning return to Hosur.I read lot of threads regarding the route queries, however still looking for latest updates as this is my first long trip towards Karnataka.

Based on T-bhp and Google Maps I have shotlisted the below route
Route Onward - Hosur > Bangalore > Nelamangala > Kunigal > Hassan > Sakleshpur > Dharmastala
On Return - Kukke > Ballya > Gundya Cross > Blr-Mlr Road > Nelamangala

However Iam still not clear about the routes because after Sakleshpur there were two routes mentioned - Shiridi Ghat and Charmadi Ghat, not sure which one to take to reach Dharmastala.
Friends Iam looking for the below info
1) Detailed Route/Road Conditions -
a) Nelamangala to Dharmastala
b) Dharmastala to Kukke
c) Kukke to Nelamangala

2) Good Veg Hotel in Dharmastala
3) Good Veg hotel and hotel to stay in Kukke

Mods please merge this thread to any existing if required/ please do not delete as there are similar many threads existing. Iam also looking for latest route/road conditions.

Hi Bhargava, I visited Kukke and Dharmastala two weeks ago. You are planning your visit in the right time when the roads are really good.

If you are going on a weekend, ensure that you book in advance. This is a new hotel opened only a couple of weeks before our visit. The rooms are very clean and the room rent for a double room is very reasonable at Rs.550 per day. An A/C room costs you Rs.1000. But the normal room was good enough.

Since you are traveling from Hosur, please take the below onward route

Hosur > Enter NICE road after electronic city > Exit at Magadi road exit in NICE road> Magadi > Kunigal > Hassan > Sakleshpur > Shiradi ghat route -> Dharmastala

Return will be
Kukke > Ballya > Gundya Cross > Blr-Mlr Road >Shiradi ghat route> Sakleshpur> Hassan >Kunigal >Magadi > Enter NICE road from Magadi road > Exit NICE road at Hosur road > Hosur

If you follow this route you will avoid both Bangalore traffic mess as well as Nelemangala traffic mess and save a lot of time. The roads are in very good condition throughout. Please PM me if you need more information and I did be glad to help

I thought i will start by 4AM to avoid traffic and reach Nelamangala via Malleshwaram ...

Hi Bharghava, Sorry I logged in after quote some time. After entering NICE road, the first exit that you will get is the bannerghatta road where the road will end abruptly and you need to drive through bad roads to enter bannerghatta road. Please enquire with the people there and they wil be able to guide you how to get into the NICE road again from bannerghatta road. Once you enter NICE road from Bannerghatta road again, then you will have to drive straight for about 20kms and you will get the magadi road exit once you cross mysore road exit. the directions are clearly marked once you approach Magadi road exit.

We just did this route few weeks ago

Day 1 = Horanadu - Overnight stay. Clean and neat roads.

Day 2 = Hornadu to Dharmasthala via Kudremukh. Overnight halt at Dharmasthala. Clean and neat roads

Day 3 = Dharmasthala to Kukke . clean roads.

Day 3 = Finish lunch at Kukke, 3:30 start Back to Namma Bengaluru and reach around 9 pm

Hi friends,

I was planning Kukke-Dharmastala visit since very long time and today I could make it.
Here comes the details of my trip

Started 5.30AM today (19-06-2010) from Hosur, Filled full tank fuel for my Scorp (Rs1635, 42Ltrs) at National Petrol Bunk (Trusted Bunk).
Route taken - Hosur - ECity - Nice Road - (After lot of deviations from Bannerghatta road joined Nice road again) - Magadi Road - Magadi - 3Kms After Magadi Busstand took Right near an Arch towards Kunegal - took left at Hassan Main Road - Shakaleshpura - Shiradi Ghat - Dharmastala.

Reached Dharmastala at 11.30 AM, enjoyed the bath at Nethravathi river, we were lucky to get a great dharshan done in 30Min, had Lunch at Temple Annadan Seva. Filled Fuel at Indian Oil Fuel station (Rs1000, 25.31ltrs)

Started to Kukke at 4PM, reached Kukke at 5PM. As Gopib had mentioned I had booked accomodation at SLR residency. We were very happy to see the rooms very neat and clean. After resting for a while went to Dharshan at 7.30 PM, lucky again Darshan took just 30 Mins. had Dinner at Temple Annadan Seva.
Back to SLR residency now and its time to take a nap, My relliance internet signals are very low here and hence will upload few pics after reaching Home tomorrow.

Road Conditions
Hosur - Nice Road - Magadi --Kunegal - Hassan Main Road no doubt roads are in very good condition was easily able to do 120kmph.
After reaching Hassan main road for 50 Kms there is road work going on and traffic is diverted in single lane.
After Hassan - Shakaleshpura - Roads are very good.
Shiradi Ghat - not so bad, able to Manage with Scorp
Shiradi to Dharma to Kukke - Roads are very good

Stops -
1) Hosur Fuel station - 15Mins
2) Nice Road Toll Plaza (Two Tolls 20Rs and 62Rs one way) - 10 Mins
3) Breakfast at Hotel Oosur (10Kms After Shakaleshpura) - 40 Mins

Tomorrow's Plan -
Kukke Darshan again and back to Hosur.

It was raining continuously from Hassan till Dharmastala, did not get much chance to stop for pics, somehow managed to take this while crossing Shiradi Ghat.
