Default NH4 Kolar Entry : NH7 HYD exit

HVK mentioned, the BIAL road in this sector forms a good bypass option. This road starts after you cross Hoskote. After a km from the Varthur road crossing, you will notice this turning on the right.

Hopefully if NH234 develops well, then there would a direct route from Mulbagal to Chikballapur on the NH7. So esp traffic to Anantpur/Mantralayam coming from Chennai can use this well hopefully in future.

Need to monitor this development as well. Has anyone used this stretch?

Mulbagal to Chikkaballapur via NH234

This is not about bye-passing Bangalore.

I could not find any appropriate thread for my query so posting it here :

I am searching for a place (hotel / service apartment) near Brindavan (Sai Baba's ashram) in Whitefield area.

I need a clean A/C double room with a clean toilet in Rs. 1,000 - 1,500 per night range for the Independence Day weekend.

Thanks in advance!

Default NH4 Kolar Entry; NH7 Hyderabad exit

Thanks to @Nigh_Hawk, who tried this route. There is a SH from Kolar to Devanahalli via Vijayapura.

Mostly folks use the combination of BIAL (Bangalore Internation Airport Ltd) road and NH207 from Whitefield to Devanahalli.
This bypass is a very useful one for residents of Bangalore or for travellers coming from Hosur.
But for folks coming from Kolar and wanting to go on NH7 towards Hyderabad, its an extra 20km distance.

This is where this new route option comes in to play. At Kolar latch on to SH96 and you would in Devanahalli ready for the GQ!

Here is the Google route link.

Only update now I see is that Google maps reports this route as NH234!
I have no idea about road status though.

Why this route though, when coming from Hyderabad?

Every time I do between Hyderabad-Chennai through N.Sagar and Chilakaluripet
I end up doing between 11-12hrs with all kind of combinations
between N.sagar and Ongole.
I was thinking of good highways all through so that it is not that stressful.
I might end up with a 120kms extra but timing might be the same.

Defintely less stressful. But I think it would be more than 120km.
Nearing about 180-200. Overall hardly any traffic on the 180km odd NH234 stretch Chikkaballapur.
Rest of the 500-600km is 4L. But no idea about the road status though.

Nice to note this! So this does provide a good alternate option!
Also good to note that the roads Devanahalli-Kolar via Vijayapura and sections of NH234 are in good state. I would definitely try some day.

Was crossing Banglore from Coimbatore last weekend.
I came from Kanakapura side and took the Nice road and exited at Tumkur road and travelled upto Jalahalli cross signal (Rockline mall).
I took left turn and went upto Gangamma circle took a right turn and reached BEL circle and then to Hebbal and took the ORR.It took only 35mins.
From Hebbal to Devanahalli it took almost 50mins as I had missed the Yelhanka bypass.
A lot of signals due to metro rail after Yelhanka upto Devanahalli.

Thats my regular route if I take NICE from Electronics City to my home in Vidyaranyapura. However, at times even the Jalahalli Cross road leading to Gangamma Circle can be messy at peak hours in which case I normally take the Hesarghatta Main Road till Bagalgunte Cross and then take right to Join back Jalahalli Road at the Airforce Station gate and proceed towards Gangamma Circle.

Second option is to continue further from Jalahalli cross and take left on Watch Factory Road to Join BEL Circle.

Also, an easy way to Yelahanka would be to pass Vidyaranyapura from Gangamma Circle via BEL factory Campus and take the road to Yelahanka through Mother Diary Circle and reach Doddaballapur Road and exit onto Devanahalli Road from there (No Signals all the way till Yelahanka at the junction on Doddaballapura Road).

This is the only reason, I would suggest to avoid that stretch. Its really bad.
And when it rains, its even worse. (In fact right from Hebbal)

At the cost of another 20km, its good to take SH74 to Doddaballapur and then the NH207 come to Devanahalli.
Road is not all that great, but still I think you can easily cover very easy and without any traffic at all.
Its easy to access SH74 also. Just find NH48 Hassan road. Take the opposite and you are on SH74 to Doddaballapur.

Thanks paragsachania and ampere.
I was travelling on sunday so I thought I could get away with the traffic.
Never realised the metro line project could slow down the traffic.
Last time while bypassing Banglore I travelled through Gorguntepalaya cross into the ORR and got held up at the Railway crossing.
I think till the metro project is over will always take the Dobbaspette- Devanahalli route which was good last time I travelled.

Updates on Neelmangala-Devanahalli stretch was good will try out on my next trip.

Yes no need to go all the way till Dobbaspet to take the Doddaballapur diversion. Nelamangala-Doddaballapur option is decent.

A references on the same:
