If the permission is NOT required to enter Manali via Leh - Rohtang, then it shall be very much clear that this move is 'influenced' by the great Kullu Manali taxi operators. ![]() I have myself experienced around 10 - 12 years back when we were going on a sight seeing tour (via HP registered Omni cab) around Simla, there were around a dozen of taxi operators, who had formed a kind of barrier after Sanjouli (outskirts of Simla) and were not letting the other state's cabs to go towards Kufri on their own. There were NO police around and such barricade used to happen in the mornings between 9 - 11 AM to harrass other state cabs. Cheers! Irish ![]()

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | This ruling was there last year also. Vehicles coming from Leh side do not have any issues. The issues come for vehicles climbing from manali side. They have to get permits first. |

Permits are not required, if coming from Leh side then there are chances that Taxi union is playing an important role in this. Cheers! Irish ![]()

People who do not want to cross(eg go to Leh etc.,) have to take local taxi instead of their own car. Look at the revenue boost they get.

I am planning to go to Ladakh in Aug this year from Bombayalong with 4 friends. We will all be biking it from Delhi. The plan is that we will be loading our Bullets from Bombay on the Rajdhani and reaching Delhi on 4th Aug. We plan to do the Delhi-Chandigarh-Manali-Leh route and hope to be back by the same route to Delhi. We will be starting from Delhi on 5th Aug and plan to be back in Delhi by 17th Aug. I wanted to know if these dates are feasible or are they over ambitious? Will it be possible for us to go and come back in 13 days. I would also be grateful if anyone could give us a tentative itinerary as I'm not able to plan where should we stop for the night, when we should reach certain destinations, etc.

Schedule could be as follows: Aug 5 - Delhi-Chandigarh-Mandi Aug 6 - Mandi-Kulu-Manali-Keylong Aug 7 - Keylong-Jispa-Sarchu-Pang Aug 8 - Pang-Leh Aug 9 - Leh Aug 10 - Leh-Khardung la-Leh Aug 11 - Leh-Pangong Tso-Leh Aug 12 - Leh-Lamayuru Aug 13 - Lamayuru-Kargil-Dras Aug 14 - Dras-Sonmarg-Srinagar Aug 15 - Srinagar-Jammu Aug 16 - Jammu-Delhi Aug 17 - Buffer I am worried about only the Aug 6th drive. You may have to adjust your schedule here and there, because of uncertainties in crossing Rohtang Pass.

| HVK, how fast Pune - Delhi can be done? I have earlier done Pune- Mum-Guj-Rajasthan route and while coming back Delhi-Indore-Dhule-Pune. Any better options? Delhi-Patnitop in one day, looks very aggressive to me, though it is only 700kms aprx. |
