Thumbs up Fiesta scores over new city in many aspects

Hi All,

I had a test drive on a ford fiesta exi 1.4 last week. Engine also looks good and refined. Some sources say that fiesta gives around 14-15kmpl. Fiesta scores over the new city in all aspects as far as exteriors are concerned. According to me Most important aspect where fiesta stands out is its aggresive pricing as compared to city.

Regards,
turbofreak

Please see Jan issue of AutoCar for a good comparison between these two. I strongly believe Honda city is overpriced by atleast 1 lac. And Fiesta in comparison is an excellent VFM car.

You have to make a list of your likes and dislikes, your requirements etc. Then only we can advice you which one is better for you.

Ashish_11, travelling between tomorrow & 8th feb so will update you once back. Have filled tank once and it seems to be giving in excess of 11 (based on DTE meter) but have only covered 280 kms so far so........more later.

As i mentioned in another post, engine refinement and low noise levels are amazing, more so after my Ikon 1.6zxi!

Honda scores on service where Ford is not bad

otherwise Ford is good while honda is not bad.

For me its Ford fiesta.

Ankit, I've been a pretty satisfied Ford customer for the past 5 years - own an Ikon 1.6 zxi and have recently gone in for a Fiesta 1.6 sxi; no complaints about my service dealer - you need to build a rapport with the service supervisor/manager that's all. I've got a lot of out-of-turn assistance too!

Not sure how that compares with Honda but I have heard a few complaints from friends about customer unfriendliness from Honda dealers as well. So I think its more a question of the rapport you can build up.

but what about the resale value of ford cars over honda??
i have heard that honda got a big resale value while ford doesnt..
also i live in ghaziabad and there is no dealer of ford in ghaziabad and on the other hand honda has got one of its biggest dealer in ghaziabad ie prime honda...

yes resale value of honda will be higher as of now.

but with fiesta and NHC the difference in resale should not be much.

for you buying a honda city makes sense as there is no ford dealer in your city.

yes honda has GOOD resale ... better than ford
when it comes to fiesta 1.6 vs honda city ZX gxi(thats the higest model right...not considering vtec)) ... id say fiesta

if you are considering the overall cost of running a car, including resale value, then the city would score over the fiesta
but IMHO ,the 2 cars are not in the same league, and if running cost was a major concern , id choose the TDCi
