| Senior - BHPian | check out the optra , NHC Vtec and the fiesta. if you provide a little more info it would help. for example do you drive or are normally driven around.if you drive youd rather have a responsive and powerful car where as if your normally driven around the rear leg room is important.stuff like that could make it easier to decide. | Senior - BHPian | i would suggest you take a look at the elantra before deciding anything; the car's a damn steal at 7.xx on-road. else, you can go for the NHC vtec, which commands the highest resale value in this segment. if you want an all-rounder cheap, the aveo is a better option than the optra. @haryan: well, even the base corolla is 10L+ on-road. at that price, it does not offer as much VFM as the similarly equipped and better priced elantra...nevertheless, it's a toyota....

7-10 lacs would be a broad range covering c and c+ segments. c segment optra 1.6 (good but engine is not a strength. Comfort levels excellent) fiat petra (cheapest of all but you are better off with a palio) ford fiesta (Best buy in c-segment currently) honda city ( elantra petrol makes better value.) hyundai accent (replacement due soon. even replacement sucks) maruti baleno (Old but good VFM. AUto A/c and alloys boost image) mitsubishi lancer ( old and underrated. good engines, looks and handling.) c+ segment chevrolet optra 1.8 (powerful but uninspiring engine. Best comfort and VFM) hyundai elantra (Good VFM but refinement not upto mark. cheapest here) mitsubishi cedia (Most FE in class.comfortable. Low power.A bit out of budget) skoda octavia( out of budget) toyota corolla (out of budget) I would suggest in this order 1. ford fiesta 2. hyundai elantra 3. chevrolet optra 4. Mitsubishi cedia 5. New Honda city

| I think the City ZX Gxi would be the right choice,fiesta/optra/elantra will never have a good resale value, the fe is not as good as the City Zx. toyota is offering discounts upto 1lac here i delhi(including the payout ,i.e 5 % i guess)not a bad deal either. Wat say guyz?

Nope, Honda city is not more FE than Ford Fiesta. Elantra and optra are bigger cars and more than 1.5 times more powerful than the honda city but still command respectable mileage figures. I agree that Honda city may fetch more resale but that's not a sign of being a good car.
