Default Good Car in 5-5.5L budget?

I recently sold my zen and now looking for a good sedan which I can keep for next 6-7 years. Personally I like swift but my parents want a 3 box car. As per them car without a boot is not a car at all

Looking for suggestions friends

PS: I would prefer to avoid tata vehicle

There will be very few sedans in your budget
Esteem
fiat petra
baleno lxi(bargain hard)
Accent

I am not too sure whether fiesta or aveo would fit in your budget.

All the above models are very old and are due to be replaced soon...

5.5 lakhs, you wont have many choices for sedan. Settle for aournd 6 lakhs, you will have 2 good choices.

Baleno Lxi(6.0 L) Or Aveo 1.4 (6.7 L)

With you parents having a big say, sure they would use the rear seats and that will rule out Accent/Fiesta for you are the rear seats are uncomfortable.

Go for Aveo 1.4, if its expensive go for Baleno Lxi.

yes I was on the edge of buying it when dealer told me loan interest rate of 16.5 % while I get an interest rate of 8.5% for a new car!!! Instead of paying this extra money to finance company I decided to go in for new car

Deal was cancelled at the last moment

I had stopped recommending Fiat Petra, since company health was in shambles. But, with things looking upbeat with collaboration with Tata and proposed new car launches, Fiat Petra will be most serious contender in this price range. (Again, not applicable if you have issues with Fiat brand).

p.s.: Didn't you buy your Zen very recently, say in last 8-10 months?

For 5.5 lacs you can buy Esteem or FIAT Petra or Indigo Petrol.
