Corsa prices will now fall in the used car market since its no longer in production and has been replaced by the Aveo. Hence you should get a fairly new car in your budget willy. I have however heard that Corsas do have overheating problems

I am not good at used car prices. But given the fact that a brand new VXi would be like 5L, 4.25L for a 2 year old car seems high to me.

Alrite, I am based in Bangalore and was in hunt for a used car a month back. That qualifies me to answer these.

Esteem Vxi- I've seen few 2004 ones in Maruti TrueValue. The were priced around 4.1 to 4.25 lakhs. So expect the market price to be 20k less. 2003 models would be priced around 3.5-3.6 lakhs in TrueValue.
Also, don't get turned off by th higher prices quoted by brokers/dealers. You can get them down to realistic, once you show them that you are serious about buying.

A side note- Esteem gives the best mileage among all the cars you mentioned.

Accent- Has higher prices in Bangalore. I don't have any figures. haven't seen many Accents in used car markets.

Corsa- This is the cheapest to get in Bangalore. Many dealers were prompting me to drop Esteem and go for it. You can get a good car with full service history. The spares are only available with GM service centers and they are costly.

Baleno- Do I need to say more?

Ford Ikon- Easier to get. there are quite a few up for sale. Well, that is a bad sign
Good luck in hunting

As far as I know, no major technical difference. The looks were good till 2003, then turned to worse in 2004 and came back better in 2005.

A personal opinion, the material quality is better on older Esteems compared to new ones
