Between Flair and Esteem, I'd go for the Esteem any day.

Better pick-up (faster than many bigger cars!), great FE, and it's a Maruti, so easy on maintenance.

Doc, if you are satisfied with Esteem then go for it...I suggest you test drive both Esteem and Ikon Flair(both have a similar price tag)...I am sure you wd like the ride handling, comfort, driving pleasure of Ikon.... though a 1.3 engine...its still a peppy and a drivers car...the most comfy amongst Esteem,Ikon,Indigo(thats my opinion) - look for threads which have heated discussions on this topic and then decide...if you need any info about Ikon then PM me...

Add to these attributes, rock solid reliability for years (and many, many 1000 kms) to come as testified below :

I am not an expert on resale values, but from the opinions I saw on this forum and by following the resale figures posted in newspapers (approx. buying prices by resellers), Japanese cars seem to fetch better resale prices compared to others. But, then this is just a general trend and lots depend on the vehicle in question, the way it has been maintained etc.

Dang! You got me there...I realised it only after you pointed it out!

Btw in a lighter vein...why do you keep thinking of prescriptions all the time? Any problems that I can help you out with?

Default Folks, I just did a somersault...

Its not going to be either the Esteem or the Ikon Flair...but rather between the Fiesta and the Chevy Aveo! Looks like I might go for the Aveo...yaaaaay!

Between Fiesta and Aveo, I'd pick the Fiesta.

Which Aveo ? I guess it has 3 models. Are you looking at the 1.4 Petrol ? And BTW, if I am right, this is going to be out of your planned budget of 5-6 lakhs. Makes me wonder whether this somersault places you in the list of nauseatingly rich docs ?

Both are good cars, my money is for Aveo 1.6!
Build quality, interiors & maintenance of Aveo is better than Fiesta.

My choice between the 2 - Fiesta

Default Aveo 1.4 or Fiesta 1.4

Hi Doc,

I own Aveo and my cousin owns a Fiesta 1.4 ..... We keep updating our stats on various parameters.... I have also banged my car once.... On an overall picture, we have found that Aveo is more economical on mileage as well as maintenance when compared to Fiesta.. You can search for all my threads which give an unbiased (because it contains all pros and cons) about Aveo. With the kind of run (around 7-8k kms per year), I do not think there will be any difference when comparing a Aveo and Fiesta for you... The deciding factors would only be your taste and comfort....

So just take test drives of both the car and decide. If you are inclined towards Aveo and pricing is the issue then HOLD ON.... Chevy will be launching a new version of Aveo called Aveo 1.4E.... This is will around 20k cheaper than the current base model. Looks remain the same but two odd features have been removed. you can check their website. 1.4E is expected to launch in August 2006..

If you need any reviews pl. feel free to ping me.....;-)
