If you are going to drive the car yourself, you should seriously consider Cedia. Its a better car to drive than NHC and even Corolla. Once you drive it, you won't like to drive either NHC, Corolla or Optra.

The resale value is a bit of a downer for Cedia however I think they have a buyback scheme after 3 years. Definitely worth checking out.

NHC
I am told it gives an average of 11-12 with ac driving in city. Dont know how true that is.
That is true, especially in Bangalore traffic.

Corolla seems to do you well. I'm a Toyota guy and I've had 3-4 Camry models before, and still have a 2007 model.

In my opinion NHC V-Tec fits your bill.

Inside these 3 cars, my vote goes to Corolla. Good car to drive and own, comfort, image, service, maintenance, resale value etc...

Please check out the Cedia. A very good car to drive. A bit down on juice. But handles beautifully. Definitely worth a try. Go and have a test drive yourself.

I would suggest you get a City VTEC from the list you have shortlisted.
However, if you don't mind another vehicle then look at a Mitsubishi CEDIA Select Executive.
Pros of the Cedia -
- Safest of the lot. Offers ABS and Airbags on base model.
- Most fun to drive amongst the lot
- Quite big
- Trouble Free
- Good Discounts going for it
- Decent FE of 9 in city

The Cons however are -
- Looks from rear
- Resale Value would be around 4L after 3 years and you lose around 5L. Though it is quite similar in the case of the other cars too except for the City.

Cheers

though i own a corolla i would advice you to go in for an CITY ZX as the mileage is way better and you are looking for resale after 3 years , so the HONDA as it is newly introduced will fetch you better money , than the corolla and the optra , but if you only want to kick throttle and enjoy a better ride and comfort , go in for the corolla as the corolla is the fastest in the lot well to keep you informed these are the 0-100 timings of the choices you have made ....
Corolla - 9.07 secs.
City ZX - 13.11 secs.
Optra 1.6 - 12.5 secs.

According to ACI it is true.
The Octavia RS is only 0.01 seconds faster.
BTW,
the Cedia has a 0-100 timing of some 10.23 seconds too according to ACI and the NHC ZX VTEC does the same in 10.66 seconds.

Top speeds of the cars are -
Optra 1.6 - 175kmph
NHC ZX VTEC - 190kmph
Cedia - 195kmph
Corolla - not mentioned but i think it is around 195kmmph.

Damn, i am getting tempted to buy a Cedia.

As per Mitsubishi Cedia website, top speed of both the Select and Sports versions is 180 Kmph.

@ Karan - the corolla is fast but because of the raised suspension, it isn't very stable at high speeds and the handling isn't all that great. Though out of the vehicles shortlisted, i would say it is the best to drive but IMHO, the Cedia is anyday better.

@ Novice - the brochure says the same but according to ACI it is 195kmph. Don't know what to believe.

Cheers

if your a speed enthusiast and like a bit of thrill in your drive, go for Carolla or Optra. If i am given the choice, I would have gone for a Cedia any day

Well, you cannot have the cake and eat it too. So getting all parameters covered is quite tough, you need to compromise somewhere.

Good luck and let us know what you finally picked up !!!
