Used Esteem Lxi - Is this one a good buy ? - Team-BHP

Hi,

Someone in my office is selling his Maruti Esteem LXI (bought in Dec 2005, registered in Jan 2006) for Rs 3.6 lakhs. The odometer has 10.2k km on it.
Is it a good buy ? Actually my father likes esteem a lot and maybe we can fit CNG gas kit in it later on.

Just fyi...I already own a Baleno as well.

Please suggest...

3.6 is a bit on higher side but depends in ICE..

A new one, with discounts would cost you about 4.7. Hence 3.6 for a 1.2 year old car seems OK if the warranty is intact (all services done on time from M.A.S.S.), the car is clean, paperwork in order and reasonably decent ICE and tyres.

Please ask and verify, why your colleague is selling it. No-one usually sells a brand new car after 1 year of use, unless there's a compelling reason. You don't want any bad surprises later.

But, it's a great bargain, if the car is alright.

not bad for the price but make sure no major accidental coverup or somthing - its a good buy as long as evrythings it mint condition

Go for it!! Esteem, even if it stops selling, parts wont be an issue till eternity!

Esteem is well known car in indian community. Its good buy for sure! Ask for 3.4 lacs because its 2005 make however you can still buy this for 3.6 lacs if car is too good.

Its a steal...go for it if you really want the Esteem. However, with a 3.6 lakh budget, you could look at used city/small cars in mint condition as you already own a Baleno.
