Exclamation Aveo 1.4 or Verna i or Fiesta 1.4EXI

Hi. Am looking for a car in the 6 lakh bracket. The cars I have shortlisted are the Aveo 1.4 , the Verna i and the Fiesta 1.4EXI. These are all between 6.05 lakh to 6.25 lakh ex-showroom. (All petrol versions and would be driven by me)
My drive would consist of about 25k a day, mostly with AC. While fuel economy and handling are key concerns, another major concern is of maintanence. I have had a Accent earlier and Hyundai service wasnt too expensive. But am a little apprehensive about cost of spares and maintanence when it comes to GM and Ford. Pls help me decide.
Rgds,
Victor

some people on the forum claim to get 14kmpl with the verna. its fe should be good. but the handling isnt supposed to be that great. the fiesta is supposed to be the best handler.and hyundai service as you know is reasonably good.

Dont you mean Ford??

Looks: Aveo 1.4 winds hands down
Ride and Handling: Ford would certainly be the best
I havent driven Verna petrol but, what i heard the engine characteristics have improved though not very refined and average is quite decent. Though ride and handling still remain a matter of little concern as with most hyundais.

With regards to A.S.S: It is Hyundai, Ford and GM in that order

Do test drive all the cars and go with your heart. Goodluck !!!

I believe the Fiesta would be the better of the lot, but being the 1.4, i am not very sure. Please do test drive the 3, and decide.

I guess this differs from region to region. Cannot really pinpoint which amongst them is the better. However, Victor, I feel you should be deciding between the fiesta and the verna, considering ur requirements.

Hyundais are the cheapest to maintain any day.

I think you should try out the Verna - it is more powerful than the other 2 1.4s and is reputed to return pretty good FE figures too.

Fiesta petrol- best in handling and driving pleasure with not so good FE and A.S.S. Spare parts, maintenance are costliest among all three.
Verna petrol- havnt driven it nor seen many happy customers. this indeed is a good car but in diesel. petrol version hasnt made any big waves yet. A.S.S. has always been good with hyundai but this car, I heard is not that cheap to maintain like santros or accents.
Aveo 1.4 - I own one and quite happy with it. its a VFM deal. looks and interiors very nice but driverbility is not as good as fiesta. engine need more refinement, still it delivers very good FE in this price and segment range.

my vote obviously is for Aveo 1.4. Fiesta and verna are also good in other aspects so you better take few test drives and then decide.

Ask yourself what you would want most...handling, fuel efficiency or relatively low maintenance costs. If you pick the last two, then the Verna it is. The Fiesta is your car if you opt for the first two. For a decent compromise on all 3, pick the Aveo.

ford maintenance is not what its made out to be own a ford fiesta1.6 so far the a.s.s has been good and as for the money spent till date around for the fourth service Rs 2400 with oil change. After the launch of fiesta the service has improved at least my personall experience
best way is take a test drive of all 3 cars and then decide which u want

Aveo is definitely a VFM. I took a test drive and drove it at 150km/hr. The refinement of the engine is not as good as NHC/Fiesta but at a price of 6.3lacs 1.4Base is VFM. But, the engine becomes very silent once you cross the speed of 90km/hr plus. I found it very silent at 120km/Hr.

Aveo 1.4 Base is something you can't get anything better then this at this price. Only thing is the gear box which is little annoying.
