| Hi guys have manged to save some good money and am looking at buying a second hand Scoda RS or a ciivic. My budget is 9lakhs which can be streched to 10 at the most. Not interested in taking any loans so anything above 10 is out of my reach.. Would really appreciate your inputs pros and cons and also if any other options in the given price range. Nikhil |

| i think a new civic would be just out of your budget and you wont get a 2nd hand one so soon. look at a used rs. i think a mod over here normally crazy just got a 2nd hand rs. maybe u can ask him on tips checking out the car. |

| Senior - BHPian | Used RS also may be hard to find. How much does a used Accord from 2005 cost? |

| Senior - BHPian | Forget the Civic if your budget is under 10 lakhs. Skoda RS is awesome. Maintenance costs are an issue. Check out your local dealers. There are plenty of options in that range. Corolla - the knocked down version. getting a bit long on the tooth, due to be replaced next year. Still a good car. Optra - great looks, decent performance. The Royale would be over budget. Verna CRDI - diesel, good performance if you can overcome the funny looks !! Honda VTEC - great ride, comfortable, honda badge - sadly lacks safety features. take your pick. I would personally prefer a new car to a second hand one. |

| Senior - BHPian | Skoda RS sells here for under 9lakhs. Another cheaper alternative is the Skoda 1.8TPi (same 150bhp engine w/o accessories). That u'll get for like 7lakhs (new one is ~11.5lakhs). Then for the left over cash, u can get some good alloys n tyres, and maybe a ecu remap if u need more power. I think u should consider that too. |

| Team-BHP Support ![]() | i feel getting an used RS is easier than the civic. Too hard to find second hand civics so early. Last edited by n_aditya : 28th March 2007 at 21:15. |

| BHPian | if you can somehow find a 2nd hand civic, nothing like it. otherwise the RS isn't too much of compromise. |

| Senior - BHPian | We sold our civic this year it went for something like 9ish dad isn't telling me don't know why it had the quater panel painted and the front driver side alloy was replaced as it broke due to the impact It didn't even took a hour to sell a person can saw her and asked what we were asking and handed over the money and took the car My friend is looking for civic for past 2 months and still has no luck locating one we saw a few rs but they had been badly used |

| I went through the same decision last year, as Civic was launched. I got a 6K km done Aug 05 RS for 10. If I had not got this, I would have bought a new Civic. Civic and RS were the shortlist. |
