E_L I thought the ORVMs & door handles come in black colour (though a different shade of black due to plastic/fiber? will surely do that if it does make a difference.what do you feel?

LXi does not come with any ICE but pls read my initial post im shifting my alto ice to my esteem.which would eventually go for an upgrade.

It certainly would, but it is your choice. See the car & then decide.

Any pointers on what would be the on-road price of VXi in Mumbai considering all possible discounts like cash, exchange bonus, etc....?

Also, would like to know when was the kenwood CD player introduced ? is it also available in 05/06 models ?

@adityapd, prices & schemes differ from state to state thus no idea on mumbai prices.if you have a copy of AI, you can get the prices.for discounts gotta check with the dealer.

as per the dealer's sales guy, kenwood cd player was introduced on 06.not sure about the authenticity though.

I got my Xm1s for 2630/- per tyre almost a year back. Push the guy to take your OE tyres for at least 1800 each. He is quoting too low for the buyback & high for the sale. Check with another dealer.

What is the price I should pay for a Feb 06 silky silver esteem VXi run 11000 kms which is Mumbai registered and has a clean service history with insurance NCB ? The car has comprehensive insurance cover and company warranty till Feb 08 and is available with a reputed dealer in Mumbai.

Need your inputs asap since want to finalise the deal in a day or two.

should cost you around 4-4.3 at mumbai.check if the car carries extended warranty.(3rd year).if so you can add 5-10k more to the value.11k kms in 1.5yrs is low mileage. check the thread on buying a used car.

The dealer ( which is a Maruti True Value Outlet) was quoting 4.15 earlier but tdy he has upped it to 4.25 L looking at the interest which I have expressed in the car. He said I can go for extended warranty on any day before the company warranty expires in Feb 08.

I am yet to see the car...will probably do that today...any do's and donts to be checked out in particular ??

Make sure the warranty is not void when the car is sold. I think 4l is a good price.

saw the car...there was a crude touchup job done on the fender and the bonnet. Also the interiors had a stale smell. The car had 11,700 kms on the odo but felt very sluggish in the second gear...even with A/c off ( infact even my carbed esteem was faster)...it was somewhat like turbo lag...i would press the accelerator and the engine would respond after some time.

Another issue was that there was excessive jerking in the second gear while releasing the clutch without pressing the accelerator..have never driven an mpfi esteem before so don't know whether this is a usual phenomenon....???

The true value outlet dropped the price from 4.25 to 4.11 L ...however due to so many issues with the car...walked out of the deal :(

Thats a good thing you did. If you are not 100% comfortable with the car, look for another one. I am sure with a budget of 4L, there will be plenty of cars around.
