Finalised Ford Fiesta - few queries - Team-BHP

Hi guys, i needed your help,

I have finalised for a fiesta 1.4 exi, maybe from cauvery ford,( still bargaining

) here are my quires

1) I am buying the car in bangalore, well as im originally from bombay, i would be shifting back may be in 2 yrs time. My query was would i have to pay road tax once im in bombay,( road tax is approx 70K in bangalore) or i could do without it, some where i heard that i can get my road tax transfered to bombay, is that true.

2) Im getting a music system with the car,( which is decent, its a kenwood), as the dealer is saying its an offer given by ford, well i asked him if i dont want it, could he reduce the price, but he denied, said tht even if u dont want it nothing can be done with the price, my query for the above is can i get the music system installed from outside, is there anything that the warranty will get void of the car.

hi hormaz you can get music systems installed from outside but just see to it that its done by good installers for more info you can p.m sam

Transfer of Roadtax... Are you sure that you wanna go through all that..

I sent my Viva to my Delhi residence and got the car re-registered.
As per the RTO in Delhi i can re-claim my road tax back in bangalore as it was less than a year old car.

The car is now in delhi for close to a year and even after repeated couriers and original documents i have not been able to get my money out from the RTO in Bangalore..

They say the same thing. That the documents should come sraight from the Delhi RTO to Bangalore RTO and not to the owner..
I requested the Delhi RTO to re-send the documents to Bangalore RTO directly.. They have done that 4 times already and each time i have got a duplicate copy but Bangalore RTO denies recieving any Documents.

I am fed up and left that 40G with them.. I am not bothered anymore..

The choice regarding Transfer of Road tax is up to you now.

Hey, i just got my fiesta zxi 2 days back. Even i got the offer of the kenwood stereo, i listened to it and it is pure C@#P!!! and i dont think even the track name is displayed in it!!! and horrible speakers I Said I dont want it and after a lot of haggling, the dealer gave me 7500 discount instead of the stereo!!!

@ devarshi84, ya, i did check out the limited edition, don't know why did they come out with that, supposed to be that they are celebrating their 50,000 fiesta sales, and charging 70k more for that, looks like they are celebrating on our expense.

@ yogi1771, thanks for the info, but im confused to what to do with the existing 1, i'll surely p.m sam regarding the same.

@ Godfather, wow, u let go of 40k, don't know if i can afford to do that, so you are saying that your car still has a KA number plate, don't you come in trouble when a cops catches you.

Hi,

Ford also gives some corporate discounts (Metro Ford)....Pls try this option. They offered me around 6K less as corporate discount.....

to godfather - why dont you file an RTI with both delhi and bangy rto's??

to snaronikar - pls dont touch metro ford. check out another thread on indian car dealerships on how they treat their customers. Also, after loosing the consumer case, they have not cared to refund the money to the customer. will suggest that everyone boycotts Metro Ford.

Isn't there an option to pay annual tax ? Or at least try & get an exemption for your case. I hear bangalore RTO are the most corrupt.

Well i dont think its just the service sucks. Their whole attitude to customer service and rule of law sucks.

Their behavior smacks of lawlessness. Till the court makes the owner/top executive of such companies personally responsible, such companies will continue to operate. This is also whats needed to curb the collection agents of banks - unless the CEO is held personally accountable to actions of goons employed by them..things wont change.

Regarding corp discounts, they are offered by Ford so buyer can get it from any dealer.

Transfer of road tax is not possible.You will have to reregister the car in Mumbai after getting a NOC from Bangalore. You will then have to pay for octroi basis your invoice value and road tax @ 7% to get it registered in Mumbai.do not forgt to get your noc before you leave bangalore.

The total discount that you may get on an exi along with corporate discount should be close to 40-45 K. and this does not include finance benefits.

@ LLL and snaronikar well as regards to the cop discount, i asked cauvery ford to check whether if my company is listed in their list, but he said it wasnt, the same day i went to metro ford, and asked them the same question while i was cheking what deal they have to offer, to my suprise he said it was listed, so i thought it depends on the dealer, well if thats not the case, i need to double check it with cauvery, as i dont think im gonna deal with metro after what i have read in the thread.

@ esteem_lover, oh is that possible, i'll surely give that a shot, in that case whom should i talk to, the dealer or ????

@ manikjeet, thanks for the tip, but wouldn't that reduce the value of the music system when i try to exchange it for a new 1, as the shop fellow wouldn't treat it as a new 1,

@ JayD, i'll try not to take the system and get a cash discount. hope that works here in bangalore.
