Still Elantra would be much better dynamically and well equipped.

Amazing what a bit of photoshop can do. Just a wave of the brush and the front end looks smarter!

Do keep in mind that the current Elantra will be phased out soon, so re-sale value will take a hit. Also keep in mind service/spares cost. Your friend should be able to help with this. Used Octy TDi, Verna diesel (slightly higher budget), Logan diesel and Fiesta TDCi Exi are your other options. All of the mentioned can be peted and tweaked.

I would suggest you test drive all of them and decide for yourself. You might be surprised at which one you end up liking.

Thanks maserq.

Vrna - is out of budget. even if i buy one, i wont have enough money, even for a set of alloys and tyres!

Used octy - is still the prefference. will definately buy it if i am able to find a good car with in a month or so.

logan diesel - NO, i just dont like it.

Fiesta TDCi - will be getting the car, instead of our ikon diesel.

Wow !! Thats one hot Elantra - I never liked the grille.

I do not think the CRDi ELantra is available anymore. THey only have the base petrol model which sells in double digits every month !!

I think the new elantra is due for a launch soon.

Considering that you are keeping the car only for a short period you might not face much spare parts issues.

But the resale value is bound to take a beating.

But then, what about the resale value of the car 2 or 3 years?

Will it be able to retain its present resale value atleast? it is already worse than an octy.

after 2 or 3 years i doubt the octy or this will have a great resale value. i think you should get this nicely mod it and enjoy it for 3 years atleast and then dont worry about the resale.
