I agree with RevvMaster, the baleno with its gem of an engine more than makes up with the NHC's cabin and FE, especially when you consider the on road price difference of 1.5 hard earned lakhs.

For the same logic, I have almost dropped idea of buying NHC over Petra/Baleno. And I'have almost given up on Baleno for same reason while comparing with Petra.

How Black Baleno would look like with Mags and Stickers.

never been a fan of stickers on cars. I'd rather let the car speak for itself without taking help from stickers.
And i still remain a not-fan of stickers.
Btw, arent those Z Rated tyres on the baleno?

The mags are 14" HR, Tires are Yokohama 205/60 R14 ES100.

When comparing with the Petra, consider the fact that the Baleno is a full segment bigger but at the same time more FE and performance. Also the on road price difference between the two works out to 100k which is again lesser than the difference between the Nhc and Baleno by 50k.

Motorotor

The Baleno may be priced a segment "higher" but it is in no ways "bigger" than the Petra. Size wise, they fit in the same category.

Now, that we are in comparison mode,

Baleno :
Strong points : Reliable engine, good ride, good a/s/s, bigger car (longer and wider than Petra, lower height), good FE.
Weak points : No character, poor OEM tyres, 100K more expensive than Petra

Petra:
strong points : Powerful engine, best ride, more safe, better looks, better shoes than baleno.
weak : Poor interior, derived from hatch so handling will not be the best, poor a/s/s (I really doubt if it is that poor), bad resale.

Any addition/deletions welcome. I won't rate FE as bad for Petra.
