New Car - Civic / Octavia or Laura ?

Hi,

I just sold my OPTRA 1.6 last month and now need to pick a new car(in bangalore)..I was very clear that my next car will be diesel since my daily running will be in the range of 50-70kms. Upgrading from the OPTRA i had the OCTAVIA in mind (not keen on the MAGNUM since i just did not want another GM and same interiors - does not give me a new feel) .

Had a budget of approx 13lacs in mind. While evaluating the Octavia i also had a look at the Civic and the Laura. Liked both the CIVIC & Obviously the Laura but am keeping the Civic as least priority because it is a petrol machine. Octavia being old and outdated globally am in doubts as to when Skoda will stop production of this car or phase it out from India as well. Laura(ambient ver) is a bit high on the budget but am thinking whether it makes sense to stretch that extra bit to get something good.

I intend to keep this car for the next 4 years and YES this is not a company car...So all money is shelled out of my pocket..

Its well known that the SKODA cars are high on maintenance compared to the HONDA but do really parts fail except for the regular service..

Wanted the view of all you expertise in terms of pro's and con's which i may not be able to visualize.

Also a point to highlight a get a decent 80-90k discount on both the Skoda cars as part of Corporate discount and nothing on the CIVIC.
