Also I have a point to Share.

The actual market value of this Accent may be around 4.25 (correct me, if Iam wrong). The value of the car has come down drastically. If I sell it after 4 yrs (the advantage here is, the car will be of first owner), it would fetch me around 2.5 lakhs.

On the other hand, If I go for a 2000 Honda for around the same price & if it was sold after 4 years, I guess it would fetch 2 L.

Please throw me some light on this

Cant say much about the prices after a few years ...with any Honda City nearing 40kkm that you will buy you may need to put more money in maintenance (I know Shantanu will differ here )...with Accent which has just complete run-in period it will be relatively maintenance-free for the next few years.

secondly you have been trying to get a used car deal...but I believe you are seldom sure if the deal is good or not... especially if buying from an unknown person/dealer. so for peace of mind...my vote goes to Accent..

Secondly I heard that smoothness in driving HONDA will not be there in any other car & it is a very low maintenance car which can run upto 2L kilometre without a reboring.
The Honda is smoother and easy to maintain, no doubt. But, are you willing to sacrifice a little comfort for performance? If so, then go for a Honda.

Driving pleasure or comfort, it's your pick.

Comfort wise both are same. Infact, Accent gives me more backache

& if you were to buy an Accent, then please don't drive a Honda ever...you'll definitely regret your decision of buying an Accent

Thanks all for your valuable suggestions. Here goes my final analysis

Advantages on going for Accent

1. The car is relatively new & known for genuine history. Hence no maintenance problem
2. Commercial gain of Rs.50K.
3. The car is easy to sell as there is no ownership transfer happening

Disadvantages in missing the HONDA

1. Dream car is missed ( I do not think, I will have an opportunity to own my craze car in my life. I hate the new model Honda City)

2. HONDA Smoothness & diriving comfort will be not there. ( Iam least bothered about this as Iam not used to it as I do not own one

I will take a final decision this Monday & will keep you all updated.

p.s: Iam happy that I found this site. This is really helpful.

The Accent that I was talking about has come up for sale in our internal blogs & unfortunately 4 guys has vested their interest in picking up the car. Hence the selling price of the car was hiked by another 50k (4.5 Lakhs).

This decision has left me with my dream of living with HONDA. I have few deals in the pipeline ( I have put one in "Market Place").

Iam going strong in gettting a nice one
