Saw the first Jetta on road today. It looked different and fresh. Quite well built and solid. But, yes, no road presence, certainly not worth what they are charging. See the photos below. It won't turn any head and won't even look as something so new. From front it reminds of old optra. The rear is quite impressive though. Black moulds towards the bottom of body give good lift to design. But boot protruding too much, which gives an oldish profile from side. Tail lights LCD and plastic reminds me of Chinese toys(sorry, too harsh).

Overall, looking from outside way behind the New as well as Old Accord. New Accord is a statement by it self, a real head turner, the true status symbol (for likes of me). VFM, size, style is in the Accord. Jetta if offered by GM would have been a good update of Optra and top diesel model wouldn't sell for more then 13 L.

All IMO as can't give anyone else’s opinion.

Teach them a lesson don't buy any and go for Accord petrol.

Its got retractable mirrors
Its got a neat look speedo-dial
You can have extended warranty of 2 years ( which skoda does not provide)
The brand value is better

Try to find out when a new vw dealership is coming in your place as vw plans to have 15 dealers in India by the end of this year and 120 by the end of 2011.
1. They have just launched the car ,how do you know so early that its a high maintainance car.

2.Laura has reputation for being very costly to maintain, jetta shares the engines so maintainance is expected to be same.

3.Interior color on laura comes accroding to color, white gets black interiors and some colors have beige.

4.Features wise Jetta misses out on sunroof and projector xenon lamps.
