Hey thanks Jatin, yup was actually looking at putting up a comparison review of the 2 cars, guess it's upto some other 1.6S owner to do now.

And yes I guess the dealers car keys did fall down the toilet. The sales exec did tell me at first that he has a S-AT test car and not a S-MT, made me wait for 10 minutes (for him to go and get the car keys) and finally turned up and said it's a company car and not for TD. I don't understand how a salesperson can be so ill-informed, just not possible.

What were you doing all of last week? people were going flipped with what Honda did check for yourself
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...-sold-out.html (Honda Civic Hybrid at 13.65 lacs limited time offer: Now Sold Out!)

Oh BTW with the price drop on the Civic hybrid, I could have bought a Feista with that money !

I had a similar experience with honda on a road show, they just wont give me a TD car just because i was on my Fiesta there. may be because my fiesta attracted a few customers at their stall. But still i just wanted to TD the ANHC, but i did not like the dealers attitude.

I always considered the ANHC is not comparable with the Fiesta.. atleast cost wise. If i had a TD and if i felt the ANHC was good i would have recommended it to someone, but by the way i was treated i think they dont want to take the risk of a giving a TD to a fiesta owner.. but that's just me.

Hi guys i am back ,i was enjoying my drive in my Fiest 1.6 S for the last 3 days.Just now i saw all the posts.

Glenn dont get angry buddy, they didnt give you the TD why? because they are not confident about their product.I think they are jealousy.
ANHC will sell like hot cakes no doubt.People who are not enthusiasts wont care much about driving comfort and handling. They simply go for the looks, general comfort and space.

Anyway guys wait for petefied Fiesta 1.6 s thread with pictures.

Why cant we write to "Honda India" about the attitude of their Dealers ?

If "Honda India" also behaves the same way, then it is very clear that they are really scared about Fiesta Owners.

The question really is whether you want a car to throw around and enjoy or one that is more powerful, is troublefree. Remember once you get used to the car you can still throw it around - any car. Therefore the 'chuckability' advantage thins out after a period of time, which is when you start missing a more pliant suspension on our bad roads.
In my opinion, Steeroid is perfectly right. When you get used to a car over a period of time, you get more confidence and chuck the car around. A hard set suspension for Indian roads!!!!!!!, not a welcome feature, however the handling is. Definitely we expect a good handling car and Fiesta is doing a great job of delivering that. But if that joy is being robbed off by maintenance and low FE, then one need to think rationally. The experts who usually review the cars will test them under controlled circumstances, for ex in dedicated tracks, with no traffic, no pedestrians and well laid roads. They will throw the car knowing that no other vehicle or objects are coming in the way. How many times we drive cars in real world in such conditions? The most suitable car for Indian roads according to me is the one which has best combination of good ride and handling. When I drove Fiesta 1.6S, I felt the suspension is too hard for my liking. Even small broken sections can be felt with a prominent 'thud'. In fact I am an enthusiastic driver, had 8 cars so far, even driving Hyundai i10 at around 120 - 130 kmph, firing down even in tight Ooty's hairpin curves (on the narrow shortcut route, not the bus route), overtaking Fiesta, Honda CRVs. WE LIVE IN INDIA. WE NEED RIGHT HAND DRIVE CARS, MADE AND TUNED FOR INDIAN ROADS. IF THE INDICATOR STACK IS ON LEFT SIDE, I FEEL THE CAR MANUFACTURERS ARE NOT RESPECTING INDIAN DRIVERS AND NOT EVEN BOTHERED TO PUT INDICATOR COMBINATION STACK ON THE PROPER SIDE FOR INDIA. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO BUY A SUCH A CAR AND REPENT LATER. THOUGH I HAVE GOOD HEART, STILL HEAD RULES. SO GIVE US A PROPER MADE FOR INDIA CAR . I THINK FORD CAN DO THAT EASILY. DEAR FORD, PLEASE GIVE US THE CARS MADE AND TUNED FOR INDIAN BUYERS.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Very well said Nagumh. But still ford has launched the latest fiesta with left hand drive oriented stalks. I am irritated just by looking at those
I will never ever buy a ford just for that.

Hi Guys,

You
*picked a late 2008 Thread
*quoted a post that was not representative of the Thread
* Picked a minor issue that is an irritant for you to bash a car manufacturer.
*for good measure threw in lot of CAPS,

That make yourselves vulnerable to be called NOOBs not knowing forum posting ettiquette.

And the issue you picked. I don't have a problem with the indicator stalks. I feel annoyed when I have to drive another car with the stalks reversed but it just takes a couple of usecases to get that irritant removed.
If you look at the manufacturers Chevy, Skoda, VW, that is most american and european cars, this includes the audis, mercs and beemers have the indicator stalks on the same side as Ford. Just because the fewer Jap and korean manufacturers sell more cars in yterms of numbers doesnot mean the rest should do the same. When you are in the market for a car you look for a set of parameters and you dont get all of them in the same vehicle. some you get some you get used to. It;s about what's important to you at that point in time. If you don't like cars with stalks on the other side stay with cars that do it the wa you like it. no need to bash FORD for that.

I drive a FORD Fiesta S that is around the same time as the guys on this thread were making the decision to buy on this thread. This thread was invaluble at the time. Don't want to see a few out of context posts like this skewing the thread now.

If you don't like hard suspension and stalks on the other side that's your personal choice.
If you want to spew venom on Ford you can open a thread for indicator stalks and set the ball rolling for an interesting discussion. In reality t holds as much importance as breaking the egg from the little end or the big.

Hi Mods - I am bumping this thread up again since I'm faced with the same choice (city versus fiesta) and some points mentioned in this old thread still worry me.

Is Fiesta SXi FE really 2-3 kmpl less than New 2012 city?

I really like the Fiesta for its classic looks, nice smooth to touch fabric interiors and great storage for cups, bottles in cabin. Well this is the only car that can store 1 litre water bottles in front driver, passenger doors. It has wide magazine holders at back doors and dual cup holders at front and rear seats and additional cup placers in rear arm rest.it has 3 cabin roof lights, one in front and rwo in rear. Does new city compare with Fiesta on these features?
