Why sell the diesel verna? It's not a bad car in terms of performance.

Same question – why sell Verna? And what are your priorities from on new car? FE, features, safety, driving comfort, back seat comfort, status symbol, …. ??

As a broad response, soon to be Linea will be a good option. Others would be Fiesta or SX4 also in same range.

I am guessing he is looking for a diesel? and not one that is race bred?

If so, wait for the Linea. It won't be as fast but it will have everything else the Verna offers and more!

Other options are the Fiesta D which is an amazing car in its own regard.

@charan: AFAIK, there is no Cedia Diesel. Your options are the Linea or the Fiesta, unless he wants to stretch for the Optra Magnum.
I would vote for the Optra, followed by the Linea and the fiesta would come last.

The Fabia is a nice car, but it isn't as spacious, powerful as the Verna. It will also be more expensive to maintain. Plus sides are more features and better build quality and interiors. If he drives himself, the smaller size could be a boon. However, resale value will be dismal.
