Its a toss up between up a ANHC and Verna all the way. Verna will give you a diesel option as well.

As you mentioned you will be 90% driving it in city conditions, i10 may also serve the purpose.

Some extra lakhs in the bank always helps

I think the unanimous choice of the members are :

1. ANHC
2. Verna
3. i10

i10 ride quality seems to be a issue with me, just was driven around in i10 and was not quite satisfied with the suspension setup maybe because i compare it with FIAT.

Some concerns about AT :
1. What is the FE to expect.
2. What would be the normal maintenance for AT, I mean for manual we have gear oil change etc. Does this also apply for AT.
3. In long run what would be the maintenace overhead compared to MT.

One think that pisses me off is Honda does not give Alloys as standard for a 10L car. Fleecing Indians !!

Again, why does FIAT does not make Automatics

Cheers

If your monthly running is > 1500 km than go for Verna diesel.
if your monthly running is < 1500 k, than go for ANHC AT.

IMO you can search for NHC CVT (Still available with many dealers).

A great city car, with a great FE with a great reliability & had a great success.

And now its a great VFM!!!!

I am 100% sure, This ANHC is not for tall guys. I couldn't in without twisting my neck/swing my heads. This is a shame.
They say its because of its Aerodynamic design.

I was really impressed by the car, I like to buy its Automatic, But I am 6'2", so I really need to think about it. I need to struggle getting in and getting out.

Any other tall guys tried? Any tall owners found an easy way? :-)

I too am 6'2 and felt the same for the first time.It was because the seats were adjusted at the highest positon by default.
After lowering the seat by the lever it became easy and infact comfortable.

I am 6' and I keep the seat at the highest position and I still have few inches left above my head before it touches the roof! If you find the seating position of ANHC to be problematic, probably you will find this issue with all sedans and you may want to consider Tall boy cars or SUVs (Fusion will be perfect).

See if you like Verna-AT with a diesel eng.gives you more mileage.
else look in for a Civic-AT,you can find one within 7.5-8L range with low mileage on odo & save rest of the money for the fuel costs.

A friend just recently bought a Verna Diesel AT, which isn't that bad at all. Surprisingly, Hyundai Auto Transmissions are quite efficient (double checked when I test-drove the i20 automatic!) :P
Anyways, the Honda City AT can also be a choice (but only if you don't clock a lot of mileage per month.) Seriously, really sad that Fiat doesn't have an Automatic Linea!

1. FE: About 15% less in town, and 5-10% on the Highway. I may add that the highway figure f teh ANHC may astound you. The HC and Civic share the same AT. I looked at the Honda US site and found the EPA economy of the AT higher (by 1 mpg) than the MT!

2,3. Maintenance: essentially NIL for at least 100,000km. Oil change is specified at 80,000km+. Oil is easily available - Castrol TQ was also used in the Indigo Mk.I! No clutch to wear out.

Since there is no engine braking so expect the brakes to wear out about 10-15% faster!

in AT Sedans IMO ANHC is the best under 11L car. Comes with a good AT with a great mileage and a problem free car. If you can stretch your budget to 15 L you may look at the Jetta.

They don't really make those. 1.4 petrol A/T, perhaps?
