Euro III vehicles which were manufactured before April 2010 can be still be registered in Metros.

I booked a Skoda Fabia, its Euro III and I am getting it registered in Bangalore city only. The Euro IV version will come sometime in August.

YOU ECHOED MY VERY THOUGHTS!!!! YOU MY MAN !!!

True, NONE of the newer cars are exciting and i have been lamenting on this for quite a while now. All the new cars are as appetising as yesterday's cold and soggy dosa.

The only remaining 'interesting' car - Fiesta 1.6 - is absurdly expensive (atleast here in Blr). Here the ZXI is 8.1 lacs OTR (6.67 lacs - ex showroom + 1.1 lacs road tax + 8000/ extended waranty + 5500 handling charges). Only saving grace is the insurance free offer, which has been always there anyway.

@rajushank - Iam sure the OTR must be way cheaper in chennai. Can you provide the breakup from your dealer?

Is this Road Tax For individual or for company? 1.1 L is absurd!!!!!!!!!!

One of the Quotes i got here in Mumbai is given below(this is a corporate offer and hence for individuals the Road Tax will be around 55k only)

So for individuals, the car will cost under 7 lakhs under this corporate deal. Also, I was told that the corporate discounts are given on individual purchases as well if you can provide the employment details. If people in mumbai want the concerned sales guys number, pm me.

Rajushank84, if you're willing to conside the Figo diesel, then why not consider the Ikon diesel? If turbo reliability is your primary concern, then the same engine does duty on the Figo as well. Do consider that as well.

Rajushank84

I own a Ikon1.3L and Fiesta1.6L. Here's my view,
  1. Forget about the Ikon 1.3L Petrol.
  2. Buy the Fiesta 1.6 EXi or a used Fiesta 1.6 ZXi.
  3. You have raised a doubt on the Fiesta 1.6 resale value. In that case let me tell you that, the Ikon 1.3L petrol is worse than that!
You should have got the Fiesta LE petrol man. What were you doing

There has been a LE Fiesta petrol available for a long time - but only for select cities in india (Mumbai, delhi, etc). It excludes the whole of south india.. :-(

Is this a new one?

Tough luck! Then there is no option but to go for ZXI. But I still feel that ZXI can be negotiated better.

@ Sharad - So you are another Ikon+Fiesta owner! I'm really glad when I see such people

BTW the LEs are split this way - North gets LE petrols and south gets LE Diesels.
