Point is, when people spend 8 lakhs, they want something more than just A to B transportation. Among other things, they also look for exclusivity. If your neighbour, your brother-in-law and your colleague also have a NHC, you may not be inclined to go for it because it simply gives you 'just another' City. Now, imagine you bought a 2nd hand MR2 for the same money, that exclusivity. (extreme example)

ok got it
so when anyone is spending 8lakhs they should buy crappy car because good car is popular & it will be wrong in buying popular car

Ok... that was a wierd argument but i see adya's point and agree with him.
Bro,
i would reccomend a Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi.
Reason -
Good interiors, space, refinement, FE (to an extent), ride in comparision to the accent which on the other hand offers you total peice of mind.
BTW - Is it just me or is no one buying the fiesta? I mean i don't see any on the road.

When you have 2 cars that are equally 'good' why would'nt you buy the newer one that's more exclusive? (marketing 101....)

Dont worry, you're not alone. There are 100 million Toyota Camry customers in the US who dont see the difference between a washing machine and a car.

couldnt agree with you more. You are so right Mpower.

Toyota is like that grocery store who just wants to sell a car.

regarding the comparo. Lets see it this way. Considering that both the cars are equally competittive which car entices you more.

In other words see which car you like more visually and go ahead and buy it.

Hi,

I have seen 4 Fiestas on road till now. Below are thier specifications..

1.) Fiesta 1.4 TDCi which i test drove
2.) Fiesta 1.4 Petrol.. Which was driven by thier sales executive right next to my dads office..
3.) Ford Fiesta 1.6.. Owned by a Guy who lives in house no. 3007
4.) Ford Fiesta 1.4 Petrol again.. Saw it when I went with dad to book the TDCi... They were delivering the car to the customer...

i dont think there is much discount on accent crdi .(a cash discount of Rs.11000 was always there)

the accent crdi was not on discounts due to absence of competition.

Discounts is waht makes hyundais sell. Ask now for a quote and you are bound to get atleast 20-25k worth of bargain.

ford on the other hand wont be offering anything being a new product.

Yes you r right devarshi. No discount from ford dealers for fiesta. I tried hard and could only get mud flapps and teflon coatings. Also here delivery time is almost 7-8 weeks !!!!!

Unhappy

hey kashd,
the fiesta seems the one that you would be driving out!
but before making the purchase, i would suggest you to check this one out!
I heard the guy who sold me the ikon, that i have now, say something about the fiesta - that when the car is fully loaded with five people, the rear becomes very spongy and even small bumps tend to accentuate the low ground clearance! so i would suggest you to take a look at that before you make a decision.
my two cents
ak

Did you showed any interest in fiesta before deciding on IKON? Maruti guys did the same for Swift. Just want to find out whether Ford too got into the same trap

Anyway, Nothing wrong in getting this clarified.

ohh ok. So you must a already bought it. then its a different scenario.

but i think a viva looks better than the fiesta which itself is not that bad. While Fiesta engine I guess is better than the viva.

I have driven the accent crdi but not the fiesta so cant comment, but I am sure not mucg is different.
