Post My New Second Hand Esteem

Hi All,

I am just about to buy a second hand esteem VX 1998 (90,000) for 1.45 lacs. The car was well maintained, but I need to know can I convert it into an MPFI engine instead of a carburetor and also how much would it hurt my pocket? Advise!!! Also if it was a good deal or no?

Its not just the FI system that changed. The car went from being a 8V to a 16 valve engine. you need to get a complete new cylinder head and all the EFI parts. At this point, you migh as well get a Swift GTI head.

Well I think anyone reading this thread can understand what our freind implies. Its a second hand esteem that he has newly bought. Its new for him, although the car itself is old.

with you...

Alex, just try to get yourself an mpfi esteem or settle with carb one and retain it that way... Esteems are anyways goin cheap these days and that too in Delhi, its needless to say. If you tell your budget we can suggest you accordingly. Dont be hasty on your purchase, just wait on till you get the right car....and yeah, dont compromise.

Hey Nitrous, tell me about this too. I am not thaaaaat tech savy but the wild thing Mpower is talking about, is that included in that 45 k deal of yours and also would that be a new bolt on? I don't wanna spend too much on the engine but if it is a new MPFI, it is definitely worth it! If that's possible, i'll go for it else........long live CNG! lol! 30k and the car becomes mama's car! )

Guys, can anyone also give me tips on what should I get changed in my carb engine as of now for better operation, like piston rings or spark plugs or anything else that could cause a problem in future while driving the car? Any other counter measures that need immediate attention just to drive smooth and be safe? Thanks....

Are u sure about this... Is this the price of mpfi engines in chennai or is it the price of these engines in south east asia.?

At 45000 , it a steal,considering u are getting the complete swap.

Thumbs up

Hey people I checked it out the cost of the new MPFI would be around 1 lac! Labour included! The gearbox remains old! So I suggest you go for NOS in your carb engine! haha! It's giving me a good 12-14KMPL in the city. I had to get the silencer changed as the car was giving a good average and I had a lot of water dripping out causing rust!!
