Default advise on a baleno please

Guys i am in a major quandry here, i have been hunting for a used baleno for almost 2 weeks now without any luck(suzuki should know that there is a huge market for baleno and try to push sales aggresively).
Anyways now i have narrowed down my choice to 2 cars, both are in excellent condition

1.2004 march baleno vxi run 18000 kms silver color comes with a 12 cd changer and amp and stuff, cost 4.60 lacs

2.2005 january baleno lxi run 21000 kms silver color just an ordinary mp3 player, cost 4.50 lacs

i really need a car fast, all you intellectuals there kindly help me decise asap

I can't comment on the price, but between the two I would choose the VXi because:

Better OE equipment
Lower mileage done

Compare the performance & cosmetic condition of the two cars first though - that will be the decider.

hey, easy decision - go for the Vxi, you get a leather steering wheel, alloys, better music system, spoiler, height adjust seat, etc. for just 10K, plus less mileage done on the odo. Are you sure the service records are genuine? No shunts? If so, go for it.

go for the Vxi and india being india.. bargain and save money for a good set of tyres

sorry to confuse you with edit.. a lakh plus and you can get a brand new car.. esp if ur financing the buy.. wondering..

On the face of it the Vxi deal looks to be better and more VFM.

But beware check both the cars thoroughly before deciding.
Having said that, I think the Baleno make very good 2nd hand cars. I have seen a fair share of old Balenos that have clocked some serious mileage. The engine really ages well and is surprisingly maintenance free . And the strange thing is that the body holds well even though it's a Maruti.

Also it's cheap to get stuff like complete shocker replacements done(compared to other cars in the segmant) if you are the fastidious type.

vxi is a better deal. the audio equipment itself is worth 10k more I guess.

Iam not sure about the tax differences between Mumbai and Chennai. Iam sure it will not differ more than 20k (+ or -)

Here in Chennai Baleno Vxi costs 7.35 on road with a 50K discount. Even if we get another 30k discount for going through finance, the on road price would be 6.55 L, which is almost a difference of 2 lakhs. Am I getting wrong somewhere?

Maria - VXi seems to be the better deal. Go for it.
Surprise - You are right. In chennai, VXi is sure 2 lakhs more and I dont see gaps in your calculation.
