Wait for the New Hyundai Elantra/Avante and the Next Gen VW Jetta , if you are not willing to wait that long then go for the Cruze.

Hi Tushar, maybe wait for the new Jetta. Or if you can stretch a bit, the Skoda Yeti could be an option. Happy shopping!

Did anyone successfully test drove a Jetta, I've been trying to get a test drive but no-one calls/arranges for test drive? Also visited the showroom but nothing happened. Is there a way to get VW to give me a test drive?

I am talking about the old Jetta which is currently on sale in India with a Diesel power plant.

Most manufacturers have a "request a test drive" option on their website. VW doesn't seem to have one. But you can try the contact us form. Here's the link:

Thats quite strange. Surprising why they don't want to provide a car for a test drive - especially when it is an outgoing model!

Hi Karan
The thing is that I'm getting a very very good price for my safari right now and I would be left without a car once I bid farewell to it. Hence, I'll have to get the car right away.

Hey
I'm pretty scared of all the skoda bashing and wouldn't want to end up with another topic here with my car in the workshop all the time, hence staying clear of skoda. And also, my cousin just got a yeti 2 days back, so I would want a different car.

From everyone's POV, I think the cruze is the way to go and I might even get a good deal on the cruze. Its coming to about 16L on road in Jaipur. And, I'm getting an approximate discount of about 1L, so I'm thinking its complete VFM if I dont think too much about the rear seat.

Can anyone please confirm what is the road tax and registration if I get the Cruze registered in Noida, UP?

Thanks

Out of all the criteria, just wait till December.

And then buy this...or else, wait for the verna 1.6 cdi sx-o.

Road tax and registration charges in Noida are 6% of the vehicle ex-showroom cost, but please get it confirmed from others also.

Welcome to TBHP, so you are also looking for a car in this price range. I have been looking and not deciding for sometime now. Few changes in life (outside of driving) might change and may impact my decision hence still holding on.

Finally the Mitsubishi Cedia guys responded. I had visited their showroom like 2 months back and asked if i can at-least see the Cedia (Forget test drive). Today got a call from them regarding the test drive scheduled for this Saturday.

In between i had visited the Hyundai showroom for Verna Fluidic, and liked its interiors, seating position and list of features. Yet to test drive it as it had long-long queues of folks waiting.

Will also wait for the Ford Fiesta which i believe is launched today.

Still no call form VW India for Jetta or Vento.

I hear that the launch of the new Honda Civic will be in 2012. Anyone has any additional info on that?
