I believe that while travelling on a Highway , Food is not the first thing we look for. We look for cleaniness and hygiene in the place where we are going to make a stop, most of us dont make a stop for eating but to go to the Loo. Specialy while travelling with Families we ensure that we must stop at a place which is safe and has Hygenic toilets and washrooms. I will request you guys to mentione the quality of washrooms too while discussing the dhabas.

for those around Indianapolis (IN) or Cintinnati (OH), there is one place which i accidently discovered during one of my biweekly trips from IND to Raleigh (NC) and just got hooked with it. It is owned by a Punjabi Family and the food is finger licking good, the best Punjabi food I have eaten outside North India, PERIOD (mind it! i belong to punjab).

Name of the place is Taste of India and the address is: 5809 South State Road 3, Spiceland, IN. one has to take EXIT 123 from I-70 to get here; this place (dhaba) actually is a truckers stop for night halts; there is a McD nearby and a few Gas Stations too.

Serves Buffet Lunch from 11:00 - 16:00 hrs. and dinner till 12:00 AM.

Best Dishes (among Veg.): Sarson Da Saag, Gobhi/Alu Parathas, Daal Makhani, Bhindi Masala.

P.S. I am no way, in a commercial sense, associated with this place.

Any good eateries (more of dhabas than the Kamat Upachar kinds) on NH4 (Bangalore-Hubli stretch) ?
Any good local eateries, of the North KA variety around Hubli/Dharwad preferably on the by pass etc., are welcome.
