Hi,

Does anyone know how to convert a colour picture into a black and white one. Have some pics that I want in B&W. Also which software is needed for the same.

Post simple

viper:
i'm not one of the many Photoshop savvy professionals on this site but i use a very simple way to convert a colour picture into black & white.

open the picture using Microsoft Photo Editor which generally comes bundled with any version of Microsoft Office.
goto File -> Properties.
under Image Type, select "Gray Scale (8 bit)".
press OK, save the file and you're done.

If using Photoshop, select the whole image and press CTRL SHIFT U. It will make the image black and white.

Viper
Not unless you have just done it and there is an undo option.

Best way to do conversions is to save it under a different name after conversion so the original colour file if not overwritten.
