Best of 2015 as per Metal Rules.

http://www.metal-rules.com/metalnews...lbums-of-2015/

As a takeaway I did not realise so many guys released their albums in 2015.

Iron Maiden Queensryche, Kamelot, Stratovarious, Helloween, Blind Guardian, Slayer!

I just got Maiden and Blind Guardian for myself. Need to check the others.

I have been following that site for quite some time now. The other site these days I have started looking at is loudwire.

Finally I got hold of last year's Queenrsyche release. Surely not the Mindcrime Class, but, its very much there. Because the same DNA still runs in them. Really sound vintage Queensryche. Its back to their signature sound!

After the fallout with Tate, the replacement Todd La Torre does a very good job. I still have not followed the essence of the album yet. But the musical elements are very much there. The presence of Wilton, Jackson and Rockenfield is clearly felt. Over all to me way better an album compared to American Soldier and Mindcrime - II.

Todd has some serious pipes and his live renditions of Tate songs are awesome as well. Really hits the right notes. And yes the vintage ryche sound comes out as well. Previous album with Todd was also pretty decent.

Sometimes i watch this video and watch my jaw drop to the floor every single time...

Imagine the lucky guys getting to watch that live!

Talking about bruce, another mostly unknown gem is with a little known one album band called Tribuzy...song called beast in the light. What a beast of a song \m/

The new Dreamtheatre is also good. Great sound and soaring guitars with a nice mix of accoustic elements. Brilliantly sung as well. The post production remains as good as ever.

Still my personal favourite Dreamtheatre of all times is A change of seasons. Of course there is Images and Words.

Maybe slightly OT but Ed force 1 was severely damaged recently in Chile, they might have to replace the engines. But Iron Maiden continued on with their tour.

Just read about it. Thanks for sharing. Also don't know whats this commonality between heavy metal and commercial pilots. Even Chris De'Garmo is one apart from Bruce.

My friend recently introduced me to this Indian band called the down troddence. I listened to "Shiva"and was blown away. Easily the next best band for me after Kryptos.

I know they are not exactly "heavy metal" but holy smokes they have come together after 23 years! I am talking about Slash and Axl Rose of Guns n Roses.
I just might attend their show in Boston in July!

Anybody going for Bangalore Open Air next month? They are bringing down Vader, Skullfist etc. Looks like a pretty promising gig.

Had a chance to watch him live in Chicago! Bucketlist ticked! The show was surreal. The way he plays for 3 hours belies his age. Take a bow.

I so envy you! Really love those smooth soaring guitars. My personal favourites remain "On the Turning Away" and Sorrow from "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" and the opening piece of On an Island.

Once while returning home after meeting some and driving solo these songs turned up on my ipod after a long time. Needless to say, at 10PM with those guitars it was nirvana all the way home. Its only during those times when you really want that car ICE system and sound quality to be top notch!

Completely agree! There is something about listening to floyd post 10PM when all else is quiet. Sorrow is right on top for me as well. Infact he seems to have got a bit of his vintage flow back in his latest album ( love the guitars in 'faces of stone' and 'in any tongue' )
