Classic Dream Theater! @ByDesign, By your standards, at least I real old school! Still only behind classic metal acts (Heavy, Progressive, Symphonic and Gothic). Totally submerged into new Maiden album! Its just playing day in day out in my IPOD. Good to hear the Harris's thundering bass, which had some how got submerged into other sounds in the previous three albums.

| I finally got my hands on FF. Didn't like it a lot on the first listen. Probably a grower, so will give it another spin after a while. I would highly recommend another album I recently got my hands on. The new Heathen album.Highly recommended for thrash fans. |

| BHPian | e1t1bet, yes it seems to be a grower..have had few listens and it seems to get better - el dorado is still one the weakest though. and thanks for the Heathen reco (I am a fan of heathen and most old school thrash), did you actually get a cd? I definitely want to visit a music shop when I get to HeadBangalore (lol @NIP and good if it is still on!) Also read that Coroner seem to have reformed, lets see if an album comes out anytime. For those that haven't heard of them, they are an amazing tech/prog thrash band from the late 80s. as for newer thrash bands, recently found out about bands Vektor and Mutant- both have kickass riffing! | @Abhay Never heard of Vektor or Mutant. I'll check those out. I've been listening to Evile (Brit Thrash) and they have some furious speed thrash riffs. I wish the vocals would have been better though. I heard Vertebrae by Enslaved yesterday and was completey blown away. The best way I can describe it is minimalist progressive black metal. The Norwegians never cease to amaze! @et1bet Are you referring to Fear Factory? Last edited by Wolfheart : 31st August 2010 at 13:36. |

| BHPian | Spinning some Sepultura right now on my PC...anyone else like them? That band has some awesome tracks, though haven't heard any of their stuff post-Cavalera but Arise and Chaos A.D are amazing albums. |

I agree there are truly albums of such class, where you like them in one listen. One listen to Delicate Sound of Thunder initiated me into Floyd (till my second year of college, I did not know Floyd).
