Default 'Never, ever answer a cell phone while it is being CHARGED!!

'Never, ever answer a cell phone while it is being
CHARGED!! A few days ago, a person was recharging his
cell phone at home. Just at that time a call came and
he answered it with the instrument still connected to
the outlet. After a few seconds electricity flowed
into the cell phone unrestrained and the young man was
thrown to the ground with a heavy thud. His parents
rushed to the room only to find him unconscious, with
a weak heartbeat and burnt fingers. He was rushed to
the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on
arrival. Cell phones are a very useful modern
invention. Never use the cell phone while it is hooked
Cheers

Dunno about this- your charger has a transformer - the current flowing to your phone is at max 12V DC....

Errr most cell phones have plastic on the outside....so very unlikely that anyone can get a shock via a phone.

Why does the above article not tell anything about how he died even though post-mortem etc was done?

i have done it soo many times.havent got any shock.and as zapjod mentioned the current actually goin to the phone is negligible.not enough to give that kind of effect.

Except those of us who have the Razr !... Aluminium body - Looks that could kill

In all likelyhood , he was plugging in the charger and probably got zapped because of a faulty socket or switch.

the light weight nokia chargers are smps based cicuits. they can result in sending across a good share of the AC to the mobile phone. and moisture/water on the body can result in ac on the cellphone body ( of course the phone somehow survives the water...)..

those who use laptops will agree that those adapters do send across some AC, however the rater voltages are nomore than 24VDC. i myself have experienced shocks while using laptops ( almost all brands..).

IMO, it' not a farce. just a very rare mishappening.

death calls from all networks.

i friend of mine told me... a cellphone being charged in his office just blew off.... no fire and stuff... but just a loud sound and the parts flying in all directions.

My phone charges through the USB port of the computer.... It shouldn't blow!
