Wink Esteem faster then a OHC Vtec

Well this almost got me crazy!!! How can people make suchj statements??

Quote:
The Esteem offers a choice between an 85bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel, and the option of a three-speed auto ’box on the petrol version, and a five-speed manual.
The 1.3 petrol, although ancient, is one of the finest engines available in India: built largely out of aluminium, it is refined, powerful, and frugal and loves to be revved. In fact, it can accelerate quicker than an old Honda City VTEC! This engine is virtually bombproof, and a sipper, averaging an amazing 10.1 and 16.7kpl in city and on the highway

The Mumbai speed run didnot have a single swift as far as i am aware. Not much news about Baleno too. Honda ruled the drag with TCed Vtec, DOHC Civic Citys and S2000s.

nothing surprising..
a stock esteem can kill stock OHC's if driven right ... esteem is quicker but the OHC is faster with a higher top speed..i have been passed by an esteem while i was doing 160 - 170 in the OHC ..
it has a horsepower advatage in terms of PTWR ...
esteem hits a ton in 2nd gear and quite frankly that makes a huge difference if your sprinting down the streets ...

if an OHC is a dart the esteems a bullet ..

Possible if you are thinking 0-100 times.
Reason. You can hit 100kmph in second gear. Shift to third at around 110 and touch 140.

Esteem - 0 - 100 - 10.49secs

OHC Vtec with 2 shifts is still faster - 0 - 100 - 9.xx. No comparision with that deadly Vtec Motor.

I dont know why people dont remap their OHC VTec as a Thai OHC Vtec easily produce 120bhp with same engines.

Macha, I meant the claimed 11 second car on the dragstrip. We all know the OHC Vtec is a right little rocket to 100.

FYI, the OHC Z types, or the OHC Vtec in Thailand puts out 134 or so horses. So that means, for a 1493cc engine, it's pretty darn competitive even compared to the B18s and other bigger, badder cousins.

Bro.. all the cars being released in India are detuned for the driving conditions. The engines may be the same. Like the first Balenos, They have more power in the same engines abroad but came with approximately 95 odd bhp in India if i am not mistaken. The engines are detuned to give out only 80% of the power.

Yeah, I know they're detuned da. I'm not that stupid also!

I was just trying to point out that, in top trim, the OHC Vtec engine is actually quite a bomb.
