Default My Drive column in Times Auto

I love to read the My Drive column in the Times Auto suppliment that comes with Time of India. In this column, celebrities are asked to talk about their cars and about their dream car, etc. Usually these people are very clueless about cars, therefore it makes a fun read seeing them put their foot in the the mouth.

Few months back I had mentioned Kannada film star Vishnuvardhan's claim of having a car that goes 200Kmph in first gear.

Today I read about a film actor called Murali who claims his best drive was between Bangalore and Mantralaya, he did 250Kms in 2 hours in his Accent. That's like average speed of 125Kmph.

I don't know any road starting from Bangalore on which you can do 250Kms in 2 hours, do you?

vishnuvardhan... he isnt that the same dude who claimed that he will have to sleep on footpaths if hindi films are screened in blr?
So 200kmph claim seems pretty resonable

Well godfather did call me up regarding this thing .. I had been to mantralaya a few days back .. Its 380+ and there is no bloody way of doing it in 6 hrs let alone doing it in 2 hrs , the roads are that pathetic .. Either his accent must have quad turbos , quad cams , quad throttle bodies like the 1000 bhp skoda with additional wings to take off or he is plain dumb .. Or is it the reporters blundering again , we certainly know how good they are ..

Ah yes, the "my favourite car is the Ferrari. It is very bold and stylish and can really perform well" column. Pray which model are we talking about now?

Actually, I love the column. It's mega entertainment when I'm bored!

Default Times drive does it again : Blunder

3rd Aug 2007 Issue (Mumbai):

Pg no 4 : They carry an article on the Sonata and post a pic of the Laura!

Pg no 4 : In an aricle on modified chopper, they claim the bike (in the pic..) hits 290kmph! I doubt if the author knows a to z of bikes at all....

I have been followin this supplement (with the TOI) for quite some time now. Every now and then, they keep makin such blunders

What do you expect when the focus is more on advertising than content? To me, the Times Drive is only good for a couple of laughs over breakfast. Or the classifieds.
