Default Take your car 'all the way up' to your flat on the 55th floor !!!!

Sounds really amazing !!!

Quote:
Pull over into the designated space. Turn off the engine. And enjoy the oceanfront view as you escalate in a glass elevator that takes you, while you are sitting in your car, to the front door of your apartment.

Here is how it will work: After the resident pulls over and switches off the engine, a robotic arm that works much like an automatic plank will scoop up the car and put it into the elevator. Once at the desired floor, the same robotic arm will park the car, leaving the resident nearly in front of his front door. Voila, home!

Really cool, ain't it!

Guess they got the idea from the i20 ad!

With the current crunch in space and increasing no. of vehicles/family, such measures will soon (a decade or so) be commonplace.

nice stuff. It would be awesome to have an SLK Roadster parked in your living room. (I assume by the time I would get such a house, I shall also manage an SLK)

Cheers,

In Powai, you have a building where you park your car on your floor. Not inside the house, but a garage outside your house on any floor you want to live.

Not me. Appararently, the rentals are quite high as compared to Hiranandani or Solitaire. Also, the water fountain that you have outside your apartment, the water cannot be changed but is cleaned by putting some chemicals!

Now that would be the property to own in Mumbai. But what if you have more than one or two cars? I mean, you're bound to, if one manages to own a place like that?!

What if i say it faces Chandivali lake?

I think every flat has two parking spaces alloted on their own floor. apart from that, the building also has basement parking & open parking, so you do have the option of additional parking spaces.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I'm not too sure!

Oh that's good, then.

As traffic increases and the number of cars being registered every day goes up, parking will (and it already has) become a big hassle. People must think of new ways and solutions for parking their cars and bikes.

I can only see more and more ingenious ways as the years go by.

Well, both.

Good because its a lake after all, looks more like a small pond though! Secondly, because of the lake, no building would be erected there. thats a big plus point in this age where metropolitan cities have buildings within inches of each other with hardly any space for fresh air to pass.

bad because the lake is surrounded by slums. the people there dirty the lake, not a good sight to see every morning.

Weird. Why would anyone want to park their car in their house? It is not like cars are squeaky clean all the time. Tyres get dirty after a day's drive. The body needs to be cleaned every morning. Why would someone wish to soil their $100 per square foot carpet?

Wow! how many floors does it have though? Would love to see pics? Is it a ramp or an elevator for cars?

Its mostly a wow factor/showing off/bragging rights for the uber rich..other than the fact that the flat now offers the same level of privacy as a home wherein you dont have to interact with others as you leave your car and travel to your doorstep.

There is a similar building in New York. They're calling them sky garages, and these apartments are on sale right now

200 Eleventh Avenue

Here is a short video on it:
