Tejas@perioimpl : Few queries:
- right time to separate the pup from it's mother?
8 weeks, if you can wait that long. Helps the pup get some grooming with it's mother & his/her litter-mates. Stuff that cannot be taught otherwise.

- general tips
be in touch with a Vet for the vaccinations & de-worming etc.

- dog or bitch (dogess as the terminology is now called)?
I always thought we said "bitch" ..

keep the questions coming. We'll help out.

Thanks guys. Can any of you identify the breed? How can i get them identified otherwise?

Condor, i don't think the lady wants to keep them for long. Apparently now only three pups are left.

Appreciate your friend for having taken care of the litter & the dog.

Understandable. Pups are often separated at 3 weeks, but that's very early. If you are going to pick up one of these, see if you can stretch the duration.

@Anil : can you identify these ?

Going to check them out now. She told me that she would separate the pups only after a month. She forgot to mention that part to me on the phone (what she meant was that the other pups have already been chosen by others) and i assumed wrong.

Cyrus bhai, simple : take one home & name him Enzo. So you can tell Dhabar Sr that you have brought a Enzo home !

tejas: sweet .

condor: its getting to tough with my doberman now and then. We cant say anything bad about him (like Brownie why did you pee my car's tyre etc); he gets upset and walks off and wont come to us for sometime ! Thinking of awarding him some degree certificate in Malayalam. Love him.

I guess you should, knowing Behram's affinity to dogs, you may get him to agree to more things that he would not have agreed otherwise.
