Hmmm... i have a fair idea. He did not manage it (most probably). Some other idiot did! His car was hit almost at a right angle, 90 degrees. That is what made the wheels to turn outwards in such a bad angle as it took the major brunt of the hit. Else the cabin would have been damaged even more. Most probably he passed a junction and was almost past it when someone came and hit him at a fairly high speed. One other possibility is there in which case the driver was the idiot... He was driving at a high speed when he probably braked hard and the car spun... by this time a vehicle which was behind him ploughed into his car.

OT: Just an observation... this car probably belonged to an Indian?! Even the claim number is visible.

Looks to me as if someone hit the car right at the point where the door and the rear tire meet (from the front and side, not from the back, as the tire is facing outwards and backwards). And boy! Must have been some serious impact to break the tire away from the axle!

Godspeed.

Alok.

He HAS to be an Indian. The name above the claim number says Vikram Gupta. And taking an educated guess that name does sound Indian...

Godspeed.

Alok.

Might have been a Bike T-boning the passat ? Or probably reversing into a pole ?

OFF TOPIC:

But doesn't the skoda superb look too similar to passat? I know that its based on it. But Stil.

And as for the car. Someone seems to have hit it at an angle from about the C pillar base.

it looks like he spun at high speed and hit a tree or a pole.

Looks like a bomb exploded under the rear left wheel!!! Also there is a probability that the car spun, hit a side walk with something on top of it ...and the picture shown could be after they pickedup the car and secured it by the side of the road...

seems like a car hit it when it was on handbrake. and that car had a solid steel bumper, low profile one. it was hit towards the end of the door....

approaching the car on, say....30 degrees to it' length?.... made an impact, bent the wheel, pushed it out, and then crumpled the door....with the rim in between the other car n the passat.

notice that the plastic on the door does not have a scratch or anything. so, impace from the rear side.

correct me if i am wrong.

Check out www.wreckedexotics.com
In this site, check out the Mercedes E55 AMG crashes, and u'll see a similar one. But then the guy who was an arab bought another E55 the very next day before even recovering completely.

Look closely and you will even see a hand, dead... inside the car... hanging limp.... Btw, if this photo is from the site humorexpress.ru I would say russians have a very macabre sense of humor
