National geographic is running this promo to coincide with the Olympics and Usain Bolts record. Watch this beautiful animal accelerate from 0-100 KPH in 3 seconds and reach a top speed of 61 MPH without breaking a sweat. A cheetah's normal top speed is actually more, in the region of 70 MPH. What a wonderful world! India lost its Cheetah population due to hunting pre independence. | re: 0-100 in 3 Seconds! Indian government to import Cheetahs! Saw this in the news. We had gone to cincinnati zoo 2 weeks back and missed the show. they take out this cheetah and lure it to run across this field, every day at noon. Am thinking of going just for this show, again. |

It is a lean and mean machine, if you see the body works when the cheetah moves at top speed and in a slow motion video, it is a treat to watch, the muscles moving in sync with other body parts, that is exhilarating, hope that we get to see some live in Indian Zoos rather than on Nat Geo always. |
