Question What should I buy for 16K?

I am going to receive a gift for about 15-16K. Initially, I was going to get a digital camera, but now I can get any gift voucher and buy whatever I want to.

So, I need your inputs on what should I buy? Which camera? I don't mind spending few additional bucks from my pocket as well, if it is worth it.

What are best gift voucher options? Does any of bank offer Visa/MasterCard gift vouchers, so that I can use it almost everywhere.

Hey Rx, how about a video iPOD to carry around tons of snaps, videos and ofcourse songs ? It's 300$ (don't know the INR price) - if you are lucky you could get one cheap from some CTS employees who got it this year as their annual gift (was going for as low as 12-13K sometime ago).

Guys,

Thanks for quick replies! It will be great if you can also suggest model numbers (I can then search on net and look at it feature list) along with possible prices. Please also help with gift voucher options.

I already have a JVC camcorder (miniDV). It is another story that keeps on breaking down more often than not.

Playstation Portable.
it can do everything except dialling the phone and clicking pics!

now dont ask what is left then!
google for it and surprise yourself!
one link for you to start:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_Portable

i guess it can be pought for as low as 10K, may be lesser than that!
and spend balance amount on buying games and memory sticks for it!
and i guess thats the best thing one can get in 16K.

Must BUy.
Get yourself a pair of good sennheisers/Grado/AKG/Bose. Beleive me, music never felt so good. be prepared to spend around $50-$250 for the best.

option 1

With the remaining money buy an Alienware 1gig mp3 playeer(they ship worldwide) $85 at present with mail-in rebate. Also buy a 4gig SD/MMC card. And if you are not satisfied buy the Alienware Docking system for home use.

Why Alienware over ipod?

1. Looks much sexier
2. option of adding extra memory
3. SrS Wow HD in built.
4. Has built-in FM tuner.
5. Everybody has an ipod.
6. No use straining your eyes watching video over a small 2" screen.

option2
Buy sony PSP and enjoy gaming along with music and movies. Look at the Gizmondo as analternative.

option3

Buy yourself a smartwatch ( http://direct.msn.com/ ) and a pair of Oakley Ducati edition shades and a pair of puma ferrari edition or Fila Ducati edition shoes.

Thanks for suggestions, guys!

Devarshi, I never thought of some of these options in my dreams.
Rtech, that was a good one

Alright, I am a poor married man and things such as playstation get immediately booed and vetoed by "One who must be obeyed".

To compound my problems, I might be forced to travel to US occasionally (at least couple of times in a year), which I really hate. From previous experience, many of these electronic gadgets are really cheap in US compared to India.

Spend it on the ice in your car with some more green bucks from your pocket.

Then always go home 1-2 hours late. That will increase your freedom by 1-2 hour everyday with you being entertained by your choice of music.

Muhahahhahahahahhahha

yes gadgets are cheaper in US and even cheaper in Europe ( Is that true is that just my find????)
