But ultimately fuel was over by the time he could re-gain control of flight.
There was an episode on National Geographic Air crash investigation regarding this crash. Along with auxiliary oxygen tank that steward had some military training which investigators think helped him in staying conscious till the end.

IIRC, that episode was titled 'Ghost Plane'.

This are is one of the five in the world's oceans which collect a lot of maritime junk. So a further reason for worry. In any case the debris cannot be expected to be afloat after a week.

Sorry to ask this gory question, but wont the dead bodies start to surface by now if the aircraft crashed somewhere in the sea. Unless of course it went underwater as is which is highly unlikely.

Yes, human bodies would float to the surface after some time and may even get washed ashore somewhere (depending on the conditions). Small pieces of debris and some materials should also float around on the surface or get washed ashore or get caught in fishing nets somewhere (not necessarily near the crash site).

Only if the entire plane (or most of it) got sunk in one piece, would there be very little evidence on the surface. I don't know what the chances are of an aircraft sinking in one piece upon crashing into the ocean, but it sounds very unlikely as you mentioned.

Every few hours I refresh CNN or BBC and try to see if they found some clues about the fate of those 250 people onboard. I have been doing this from the day of the disappearance. Being so drawn into this and thanks to my wandering mind, I just found out something else. About 50,000 people die around the world everyday due to unnatural deaths. Since the time this incident happened, 5 lac people have died unnatural deaths and another 10 lac have died due to age related reasons.

An interesting theory I came across

http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1753.htm
http://www.whatdoesitmean.com/index1754.htm

According to this, Russia believes that US Navy captured the plane. Up to some extent this actually appears to be true. The Diego Garcia base has round the clock surveillance over the Indian Ocean, how they couldn't track the plane when it was coming south is surprising.

And it is probably too late now, but the Malaysian Authorities should've gone after the sea trollers. Since the plane appears to be flown at low altitude, their radars must have picked something. But given the time passed away and also that the radars are inexpensive and have their data erased its close to impossible to track it.

Interesting because it's possible. I hope US didn't really do anything like that.

Maybe it accidentally entered a worm hole and is now in a new dimension.

Sorry to see people making fun out of this situation.
Just opened this thread to check if any fresh info about plane and saw jokes and ridiculous theories.

I didn't share the theory to make fun. But on a serious note, if the plane has crashed in South Indian Ocean it would take a long time for debris to surface from the deep waters.

The Russian allegation seems absurd. They themselves are guilty of shooting down a civilian jumbo in the mid-80s on the pretext that the aircraft had entered restricted Soviet Airspace. Instead of that horrendous act, they could have forced it to land and verified if it was having spy cameras.

Coming to the main topic, my heart reaches out to those poor kith and kin of the passengers. I don't think anyone survived, as otherwise some contact could have been made by some of those 260+ passengers and crew.
