Chile should be proud of what they achieved so far. What a team! I have only one word for them !! Respect !!

Brazil should improve their co-ordination or else, it will be hard for them in the next rounds.

Man of the match: The Brazilian goalpost, for 2 saves! Well played Chile, and they can go home with their heads held high. Columbia will fancy their chances against the hosts in the quarter finals.

What a night of football! Chile played superbly, completely neutralising Brazil's strengths and keeping them constantly worried with good forward pushes of their own. It's sad they had to go out, but penalties are always like that.

Colombia played excellent football, and their star striker's goals were the icing on the cake. Uruguay did try hard to get back into the game, but their attack simply lacked teeth without Suárez.

Both Brazil and Chile played brilliant football last night. Chile deserves more applause for having given Brazil tense moments till the last moment.

Have never seen Brazil play this way. Where are those fast breaks, those break-in from the centre, those short precise passes..those powerful wingers? Not to be seen at all.

They are really missing a good playmaker and good winger. Every world cup we have seen some.

Bebeto, Ronaldihno, Kaka; etc. This time no one. Fred, Oscar, Jo; none seem to have that magic. They are just winning like a yet another team. I dont see that magic, which we are so used to seeing when Brazil plays.

Is it only me or the first 25 mins of the Holland vs Mexico match looks like 2 school level clubs playing against eachother. The quality of football is really not upto the World cup/international level. Energy seems to be low and both teams are giving away the ball too easily.

Seems to be the heat effect. Mexico is dominating and Dutch are playing like zombies. Missing the intensity like it was in Brazil match yesterday.

Hard luck for Mexico. If they would have hold that 1-0 advantage for just two plus more minutes, they would have been through. Overall, this also was an exciting match with a dramatic end!

Persistence wins , this was his second try in the match. Referee should have shown Robben an yellow for his first dive.

Dramatic finish to an otherwise not so fluent Holland vs Mexico game. Mexico in the end deserved to lose for giving away the ball so easily minute after minute, pass after pass. The Dutch couldn't manage to score in almost the first 90 mins but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are a good team and Mexico should have known that. Allowing them to attack for the whole half is a very risky strategy. Just feel sad for the Mexico goalkeeper though.

Oh well, what else can you expect from Robben. But he draws the fouls and always manages to get away.

True - but his world cup heroics have all but ensured that he will end up in a top club in BPL, Spanish or Italian league - especially since he is a free agent. Who ever gets him, will have a bargain.
