Isn't this quoted by APJ Kalam in one of his books? I always thought that this was quoted by him - Great man.

Default Can Never Ever Forget What this Quote means to me !

I don't know how come I missed this thread, anyways my all time favorite and the one on my ride too is

" I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my career.
I have lost almost 300 games.
On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot... and I missed.
I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that's precisely why I succeed! "

The above quote by Michael Jordan's has been a true inspiration to me and it certainly gave me the confidence many a time when the chips were down .

i've got a couple:

Attitude, not Aptitude, determines Altitude.

The eye cannot see itself. The sword cannot cut itself. The mind cannot know itself. - Confucius

The most I can do for my Friend is simply to be his friend.

I'd like to be the sort of friend that you have been to me, I'd like to be the help that you've been always glad to be, I'd like to mean as much to you each minute of the day, as you have meant, old friend of mine, to me along the way. - Edgar A. Guest

Kia hora te marino, kia whakapapa pounamu te moana, kia tere ai te karohirohi i mua tonu i o koutou huarahi." Translated - May the calm be widespread, may the sea be as the smooth surface of the greenstone and may the rays of sunshine forever dance along your pathway. - Old Hawaiian greeting

India is the kind of place, where if you've been for a day, you can write a book; if you've been for weeks, you can write a paragraph; and if you really know India, you're lucky if you can write a sentence.

Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things - Peter Drucker

Turnover is Vanity, Profit is sense

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to build bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

"We fear death, we shudder at life's instability, we grieve to see the flowers wilt again and again, and the leaves fall, and in our hearts we know that we, too, are transitory and will soon disappear. When artists create pictures and thinkers search for laws and formulate thoughts, it is in order to salvage something from the great dance of death, to make something that lasts longer than we do."

-- Hermann Hesse , in "Narcissus and Goldmund"

Hello All,

This quote is apparently from the guy who threw his shoe at George Bush....Priceless!

"This is your farewell kiss, you dog. This is for the widows and orphans of Iraq" - Muntazer al-Zaidi (While chucking his shoe at Bush!)

Cheers.

saw one on a web page
"An optimist thinks the glass in half full, a pessimist thinks the glass is half empty, an engineer thinks the glass is twice the size it should be"
