While we all wait for our matty thingys, it could be argued that a company, particularky a large company in good standing, should focus on it's core strengths and not include any freebies in it's arsenal that detract from the core strength.

Rightfully, a company of the stature of JBL, for example, would give away a 10-inch sub or 6X9 coaxials. Hindustan Levers might give away fairness creme for men, Hyundai might give away a free wheel-nut, and so on.

It would be common courtesy after receiving a freebie to send feedback to them regarding the usefulness, or otherwise, of the said freebie.
Since freebies are essentially free, your feedback should be polite and constructive, never vitriolic!

Good form also dictates that a handwritten thank you note be sent in acknowledgement. This makes it more personalized than a computer generated statement that does not call for, nor accepts, any replies.
In the present case, the sheer number of handwritten thank you notes could turn out large enough to be overwhelming.
This could compel the company to have to hire additional storage space for temporary storage of mail. However, such costs are always 'built-in' at the freebie planning stages and recipients do not have to be concerned about this.

So, gentlemen, let us all behave with due etiquette. And please do remember that children and ladies will be served first.

You have become extremely good at blowing people's cover! This is not always good for decorum.

I never got attracted to such offers, but this time tempted to give it a try.

I appreciate the person who takes the pain to go through all emails & courier it. Really has to be passionate to do such jobs.

You could be right.
But then, I have not yet given my discourse on 'virtual' freebies!
Yes, these are also a reality. Many companies have resorted to such tactics, I am told by impeccable sources!
What is a 'virtual' freebie?
Yea, you guessed it! They exist in Second-Life scenarios. They are very 'real' there. But in this world they're not palpable, nothing!
But they do serve to briefly bring the company name to the fore.
